Keep our air country-clean

We are very concerned about the Williams power plant and where it is to be located.

I moved to Sparks Inn 10 years ago because we didn't have a doctor in our town and I couldn't drive.

There are about 200 residents in Sparks Inn who came here from all walks of life. We do not need and do not want Williams to build one of the nation's largest power plants in our residential area.

Most of us have worked 35 to 45 years to raise our families and make our state a more beautiful place to live.

Now that we have entered the twilight years of our life, we are proud of our quiet, peaceful and clean community to reside in away from cities which are full of different fumes.

It is a gorgeous sight to look out my window in the mornings at the bright sun rising into a clean blue sky.

Christian City revolves around children and senior citizens who can't live just anywhere. Why put our life in danger by building this energy plant so that it's in our back door when it can be put somewhere else?

I've lived close to one of these plants in the past and there is no way those smoke stacks totally control those chemicals. Day and night smoke seeps out of those tall smoke stacks.

Just remember, if that plant is put in our residential area, it's there from now on and our country-clean air is gone forever. What a price to pay.

There are other places besides our residential area that these plants can be built. Let's band together and not let it be put in our back yard.
