If the food is any indication, this year's annual meeting of the South Fulton Chamber of Commerce should be a big hit.

The annual dinner will feature the theme "A Canvas to be Painted" and is set for Nov. 1 at the Georgia International Convention Center on Sullivan Road.

The event starts with a reception at 6:30 p.m and dinner at 7:15 p.m.

This year's menu features creations from Proof of the Pudding catering company and features a meal that is worthy of the well-known restaurants in Atlanta.

Diners will start the meal off with a colorful salad of mixed greens, and a cheese puff pastry. The entree features free-range chicken stuffed with risotto and spinach, along with salmon. If you're still hungry, you'll be able to sample a selection of desserts from the dessert buffet.

John Pruitt, WSB-TV "Action News" anchor/reporter will deliver the keynote address and the Big Peach Swing Band will provide dinner entertainment and after-dinner dance music.

This year's theme reflects not only the beauty that is South Fulton County but the beauty that is yet to developed, officials said. Recently, South Fulton has caught the eye of new Atlanta residents and businesses as they look for desirable locations for their homes, families and businesses.

The new direction of the chamber is also evocative of the fresh canvas theme. After almost 10 years of affiliation with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the South Fulton Chamber will once again become an independent organization for the thousands of new and established businesses there.

Tickets for the event are $50 and tables of eight are available for $400. To reserves seats or tables or for information phone the South Fulton Chamber at 770-964-1984.
