Lady Chiefs defeat Lady Tigers, have leading scorer in state history

There were several announcements made during Tuesday night's match between the McIntosh and Fayette County varsity girls soccer match. At one point the loudspeaker announced that the Lady Chiefs were ranked first in the state and first in the nation in the Fox Sports poll. Perhaps the most surprising announcement came after senior forward Julie Herdic scored her first of three goals on the evening. As near as anyone can tell, that goal gave her the most goals in girl's high school soccer for the state of Georgia.

Panthers tennis team wins two games last week

Starr's Mill Boy's Tennis Team had a successful week of play. Last Tuesday, the Panthers defeated Henry County in all their matches(5-0). Singles winners were Patrick Davis, who won 10-3, Adam Esterline won 10-2, and Drew Evans won 10-2. Doubles winners were Chad Newton and Stephen King won 10-5, and Apurva Doshi and Parrish Walton won 10-1. Phillip Strickland and Brian Spears played exhibition matches.
