Panthers tennis team wins two games last week

Starr's Mill Boy's Tennis Team had a successful week of play. Last Tuesday, the Panthers defeated Henry County in all their matches(5-0). Singles winners were Patrick Davis, who won 10-3, Adam Esterline won 10-2, and Drew Evans won 10-2. Doubles winners were Chad Newton and Stephen King won 10-5, and Apurva Doshi and Parrish Walton won 10-1. Phillip Strickland and Brian Spears played exhibition matches.

Last Thursday saw Starr's Mill defeat Jonesboro 3-2 Singles winners were Patrick Davis, who defeated Mike Lindenman, 14 and Phillip Strickland, who defeated Daniel Banke 10-0. John Esterline was defeated by Manny Cortez, 7-10

In Doubles, Apurva Doshi and Chad Newton defeated Adam Keller and Brad Hough in a tiebreaker 10(7-3)-10, while Drew Evans and Brian Spears were defeated by Nick Griffin and Matt Simmons 10-7.

The Panthers next match will be next Thursday when they face McIntosh at home. All Starr's Mill home matches are played at the Woodcreek Sudivision.
