I was very impressed. The place has been completely redone and looks very nice. We had a large party and could hear each other over all the other guests (It was hopping!).

I have had an idea that could help our budget and community and housing. Sell or Lease the moth-balled schools to Clayton State so they can expand their presence and degree/class offerings in Fayette!

Are there any thrift stores in Fayette County that benefit charities or churches or anything? We need to do some donating and a bit of shopping and I would like to put my time, energies and money toward something more than profits.

(I am moving this from a response to a letter so it doesn't get buried too fast!)

I try and try to be involved. As I am able, I attend meetings and I consistently check the appropriate websites for agendas and minutes (which is often a waste of time). My biggest concern and feeling of helplessness right now involves the East Bypass.

What a terrible and sad scene on the way to work today! FCSO had traffic stop and go and when I went by the emergency vehicles, I could barely recognize what used to be a car off in the woods at 92 and Hilo. That is a dangerous intersection (needs a simple turn lane there). I hope it wasn't a hit and run and whoever belonged to that piece of metal is okay.

My father will be in town visiting and said he wanted to eat out at Smokey Bones. DH says it is closed and has been for a while.

This had me cracking up on the way to work this morning. Boortz, I think is who I was listening to on the radio. Not a direct quote, but close:

Any Universal Health Care system that the government may enact will affect everyone, even Congress, Courts, President, etc. There will be none of these exceptions to the rules for politicians (think Social Security/Retirement Benefits).

This is going around the emails and I found it very profound. I am vehemently against a government sponsered health care system. With free ER care provided and supported by those of us with insurance and/or the responsiblity to pay our bills, we don't need to make things worse.

Since most of us are anonymous on here, it would be very interesting to see who is voting for whom in the primary. It will still be a secret to the real world!
