Thrift Stores that give back

zoes's picture

Are there any thrift stores in Fayette County that benefit charities or churches or anything? We need to do some donating and a bit of shopping and I would like to put my time, energies and money toward something more than profits.

Thanks!

Like many others around PTC, I donate and volunteer at CLT. It has just doubled in space again due to the overwhelming response-demand-support it gives and receives from the area. They focus their donations to the Fayette County, southern crescent area. It's a great place to find some real treasures - especially womens clothes. I've seen items from the Avenue stores with tags still on. They are a great local charity.

The Real Life Center Store on Senoia Road in Tyrone (formerly Mundy's Drugstore.

Clothes Less Traveled on Highway 74 in PTC near Gilroy's Hardware.

Helping Hands Ministry on Huddleston Road.

I was hoping Clothes Less Traveled was one of those kind. I don't know about HHM, but will check them out. Thanks Arf!

Don't forget about the Fayette Thrift Shop (located on Hwy. 85 in Fayetteville in the Big Lots Parking Lot) which divides proceeds from their sales between two local non-profits, Fayette Youth Protection Homes and Promise Place.I know for a fact that these two organizations would have a hard time operating without the financial help of the Fayette Thrift Shop. Clothes Less Traveled supports these two charities as well. Don't know why we would need a Goodwill here when we already have a number of similar operations in this county that are doing a lot of good things for our local charities!
