If you want to burn leaves or debris, today is the last day to do it until the fall. A senior at McIntosh High School died Monday morning after her car collided head-on with a truck on Ga. Highway 16 in Coweta County, deputies said. Robert Wood is currently serving as chairman of the Contracts Committee of the Coweta Courts Complex and it is estimated that Wood saved the county over $200,000 so far in this effort. Thanks to Coweta-Fayette EMCs Operation Round-Up program, six Coweta County facilities (Newnan Senior Center, Grantville Senior Center, Senoia Senior Center, Coweta County Fairgrounds, Newnan Recreation Department and the Hunter Complex) have received automated external defibrillators. The new building for St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sharpsburg may be seen on its 40-acre site much sooner than anticipated. The initial capital campaign, Our Faith, Our Future has raised more than 73 percent of its goal of $1.2 million in just five weeks. The drive will continue until the $1.2 million figure is realized.
