Tyrone woman arrested after stolen items found at house

Tyrone police have busted up what they believe is a multi-county theft ring after serving a search warrant at a home on Arrowhead Road Wednesday afternoon.

Police found various items that were reported from Tyrone and several other jurisdictions including three Georgia license plates, a U-Haul trailer, a utility trailer, a Makita grinder and a tool box, said Police Chief Johnny Hay.

Also found were an EZ-GO golf cart and a John Deere lawn mower which had serial numbers filed off, Hay said.

Angela Brook Moore, 38, who rented the home at 135 Arrowhead Rd, was arrested for one count of theft by receiving stolen property, Hay said. The investigation will continue with at least one more arrest forthcoming, the chief added.

Some of the items had been taken from Douglas, Carroll, Clayton and DeKalb counties, Hay said. The utility trailer, tool box and one of the license plates were reported stolen from Tyrone, Hay said.
