Likely due to recent negative publicity, a plan to move a federal homeland security office — and an estimated 100 jobs — to Peachtree City is on hold.

Annual Can-A-Thon is underway

The Newnan Junior Service League’s Can-A-Thon is underway. This is the 20th year that Newnan has held this event, and businesses, schools, and churches are beginning to collect donations that will help stock Newnan’s food pantry for the upcoming year. Last year, the goal was to collect 140,000 cans, and the Junior Service League collected 152,300.

Resident wants daycare in East Coweta

In reference to “County nixes idea of daycare center on Rockaway Road” ... just how much additional traffic is a daycare center going to bring? This is not a 24/7 working establishment. Has anyone noticed that there are zero (0) child care facilities in this area of Coweta?  Just where do the commissioners think that the working parents living in East Coweta are taking their children?
