man accused of making lewd phone calls to women was granted a $70,000
bond Wednesday on the condition that he replace his telephone with one

About
five years go the Development Authority of Peachtree City and the Peachtree
City Council looked into having a Free Trade Zone in its city. Having
an FTZ allows companies importing certain goods to either defer or delay
the application of reduced import duties.

The
Peachtree City Library Commission met Wednesday night for its regular
monthly meeting, followed by another presentation on the possible library
expansion and renovation and a public workshop.
Police:
High speed to blame in golf cart accident near McIntosh
Police
estimate a golf cart was traveling between 30 and 40 miles per hour
when it careened out of control, flipped and struck a tree last Friday
afternoon near McIntosh High School, seriously injuring the driver and
also hurting two passengers.

fifth-grader seeing wish become reality

County resident Frankie Pickard, a fifth-grader at Cannongate Elementary
School, made a wish that came true with help from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
His wish was to become a country music star and Make-A-Wish gave him
a CD release party at the Hard Rock Cafe and a chance to perform in
front of fans.

School System is notifying parents at four county elementary schools
that decisions about school transfers under the No Child Left Behind
Act will be announced no later than Sept. 8, following the receipt of
further information from the Georgia Department of Education.

been working to preserve much of the historical site where the Battle
of Brown's Mill took place in 1864.
