Northern Arc dead following Tuesday's election?

Buoyed by the stunning outcome of Tuesday's election, officials with the Northern Arc Task Force (NATF) ­ the nonprofit grassroots citizens' organization fighting to stop construction of the Northern Arc ­ are optimistic that Georgia's critical transportation initiatives now may have a chance to move forward in a positive direction without the inclusion of the controversial superhighway.

The Board of Trustees of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 20 , 2002, at 4 p.m. on the 6th floor of the Central Library.

Games importance increases as season nears end

The regular season will end for several teams tonight and many of those teams will be looking to finish on a positive note. Several other local teams, most notably Starr's Mill, Landmark Christian and Sandy Creek, will most likely have a longer season by going to the state playoffs.

Teams head to state cross country meet tomorrow

The state cross country meet will take place tomorrow at Carrollton High School. The local area has teams competing in the Class A, AAAA and AAAAA meets. The AAAA meet kicks off the day with the Northgate girls racing at 8:30 a.m. Our Lady of Mercy and Landmark's girls will follow at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by the boys at noon. McIntosh, Starr's Mill and Fayette County's boys will race at 1 p.m. and the McIntosh and Starr's Mill girls will race at 1:30 p.m.
