For many of former
president Jimmy Carter's supporters, the news was long overdue.

Last week, the House
of Representatives passed by a vote of 296-133, H. J Res. 114 which

that country into compliance with U.N. Security Council resolutions

LETTERS TO THE
EDITOR
Southside
plan makes us question motives
[Our] family has
been residing in Fayette County for over 16 years. We chose Fayette
County for many reasons but mostly because of the following: Small town
appeal with a slower pace, great place to raise a family, great schools,
neighbors and family with the same desires.
Needed:
4th grade teacher to resolve silly PTC disputes
This an open call
to all of the excellent elementary school teachers in Fayette County.
The citizens of Peachtree City are in desperate need of a person who
can resolve disagreements between fourth graders disguised as politicians.
Many
helped prepare 1st amphitheater show
Our community welcomed
an exciting new venue with the inaugural concert held at the Villages
Amphitheater on Sept. 28. Our own Judge Paschal English was the guest
emcee for Dennis Edwards and the Temptation Review who played to an
enthusiastic full house. However, the enduring star of the evening was
the new facility.
Don't
forget that Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens
Your article, "Bond
is denied for 3 PTC jewelry theft suspects," contained erroneous
information regarding one of the suspects.

Not
good that sheriff gets all confiscated money
Re: Slow down and
leave one of state's best sheriffs alone. This is response to Gary Walker's
letter. It is apparent Gary Walker did not read my letter.
Smoking
danger still rampant in PTC; consider smoking ban
Like California,
New York and Florida are now considering smoking bans. This is an important
issue for all Americans because (like so many of today's problems) it
is about the balance between conflicting rights. People have the right
to smoke but people also have the right to protect themselves by breathing
air free of the dangers found in the smoker's wastes.
Cleland's
courage can't overcome his bad judgment
Max Cleland is a
good fellow whose courage cannot be questioned, but whose judgment certainly
can.
Chambliss
a foe of taxes
The Saxby Chambliss
for U.S. Senate is the most important race for Georgia and America.
Our president needs a Republican-controlled Senate in order to get legislation
passed and his conservative appointees confirmed to the Supreme Court.
