Don't forget that Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens

Your article, "Bond is denied for 3 PTC jewelry theft suspects," contained erroneous information regarding one of the suspects.

If Marcello Bonilla-Sanchez is Puerto Rican, as you alleged, he is NOT an illegal alien. It would do you and your newspaper good to learn some history and geography, before publishing such information.

Puerto Rico is part of the U.S.A., and we are all U.S.A. citizens by birth since 1898. Our soldiers defend this country with all their hearts and might, but their deeds are often overlooked or ignored.

Regretfully, the news media in this country rejoices in derogatory remarks regarding Puerto Ricans, but when the news is uplifting or beneficial to the Island's image, they are ignored.

The merchant marine recently killed and (obviously) his twin brother are Puerto Rican, the Air Force pilot downed and disappeared in Libya, was Puerto Rican. The Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Division was the most outstanding, courageously killed defending this country in Korea, and on and on, but those deeds are never exalted by your kind.
