One
of Beverley Watson's best friends testified yesterday that her friend
had developed "a new resolve" to leave her husband in the
weeks before she disappeared.

laying out the theory which accuses Jim Watson of murdering his wife,
Fulton County prosecutor Sheila Ross told the jury Wednesday that he
gave several different stories to police in the days and months after
his wife Beverley disappeared from their south Fayette County home.

came during a spend-the-night New Year's party at the couple's south
Fayette home in the late 80s, according to the testimony of one of Beverley
Watson's closest friends.
School
board tentatively approves budget for 2003
The
Fayette County Board of Education tentatively approved a $141 million
budget for the 2003 fiscal year at a called session Tuesday. The budget,
set at 141 million dollars, is a $5 million increase from last year,
which comes mostly in the form of personnel. The budget is balanced
and is only a 4-percent increase over last year's budget.

of July parade, emphasizing parade safety for both participants and

Thirteen-year-old
Rebecca Stokes of Peachtree City will be running 10K every day during
