admits abduction plot
Peachtree
City Police foiled a potential child abduction Monday afternoon by arresting
a man near Oak Grove Elementary School who police believe held two boys
against their will on a golf cart Sunday.
School
officials stress safety
Oak Grove Elementary
School principal Debbie Wheat and assistant principal John Bouchell
dealt with calls from concerned parents Wednesday, following the arrest
of a 22-year old man Monday at Rock Spray Park located near the school.
Bridge
repairs underway
The
golf cart and pedestrian bridge over Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City
has been closed to all traffic for significant repairs.
Planning
Commission will consider rezoning request for Lexington Commons
The Peachtree
City Planning Commission is expected to revisit the rezoning request for
Lexington Commons, the commercial and retail portion of a mixed-use project
that will be located at the intersection of Walt Banks Road and Ga. Highway
54.

Work
steadily continues on The Avenue at Peachtree City, the largest retail
project approved by the city in the past five years.
Campfires,
bonfires must be approved by fire marshal
Anyone
seeking to have a bonfire or campfire in Peachtree City must first get
permission from the city's fire marshal.

An
election rally will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Gazebo in the parking
lot of the county complex at the corner of Ga. highways 85 and 54.

Court rules in county's favor
In a ruling that
Coweta County Attorney Mitch Powell is calling a precedent, the Georgia
Supreme Court sided with Coweta County in its zoning dispute with the
city of Senoia.
Drought
conditions worse
Drought
conditions in Coweta County have gotten worse due to the continued lack
of any measurable precipitation, and more severe water use restrictions
may be needed to be instituted to cope with the situation, officials
say.
Hunter
releases credit records
With
just days to go before the election, Coweta County Commission Chairman
Vernon "Mutt" Hunter was put in the position of defending
his spending.
