Does anyone know what is going in at HWY 54 @ MacDuff Parkway across from the new MacIntosh Village development -- it was zoned for a gas station?

And, to think I was a campaign contributor to our current mayor. I thought we were getting something different when we got rid of Steve Brown. Ooops. I guess we get the government we deserve. I'll take a hit on this one.

I'm glad to see that our leadership doesn't care too much about the west side.

PTC West Side = Kauffman Tires, Tires Plus, WalMart and other various empty stores.

Can't we just tear it all down and start over?

The bulding is a new "Discount Tire" store. It was approved at a Planning Commission meeting a few months ago.

I know a while back I read about Applebees at that site. Not sure if they are still going in or not.

Apparently not, from above post.

Or are moving into this new facility, there was a tire store in that strip mall right there. Wal-Mart also has an auto shop which sells tires. Just what we need, littering up our highway--another tire store. The only things you can be sure of when Logdson says something is that his mouth is open.

The Applebees was approved by the planning commission. It wasn't just rumor. It's linked in this blog.

Exactly how is it Logsdon's fault? I'm sure he canned it in favor of a gazillion dollar kickback for a tire store. That sounds plausible.

Then it is good enough for PTC. That is harolds "logic". If it looks like a trashy strip mall it is good enough for us. Even though our current trashy strip malls are 75% empty.

That harold is more than just our village idiot....he is the lead idiot in charge.

I thought you were crazy, but you were absolutely correct about an Applebees going in on that site: (LINK)

Promise us an Applebees, give us a Discount Tire. That's some damned fine mayoring there, Harold.

I'm not sure what happened. To all those blaming the Mayor, I'm not sure the Mayor or Council have any control as to the business's that can open, assuming the zoning is in place for said business.

How many Citizens complaining about this, actually wrote Applebees when it was approved and let them they know they would be welcome in PTC?

Applebees was one of many items "heard" to be going there. Famous Fish stand alone (couldn't get past the taxes). QT gas station. But, alas, another "tire" store that many people will take and then retake ("Have you seen my oil cap?" "The engine light came back on before I was out of the parking lot!) their vehicles to for mechanical services.

I know the free market should allow business to survive or fail based on merit, but sometimes I wonder if we should not look out for what we already have.

PTC "tire" stores are just as prevelant as nail salons.
