ATL to pay for sewers

There’s a belief
that the only reason proponents of airport privatization want the city
of Atlanta to hand over airport operations to the private sector is
so that it would operate more efficiently, therefore cost-efficiently.
The airport is already operating efficiently, some say, and that negates
the need for privatization.

Cano deserved his 1-year sentence
The State Bar of
Georgia has rules of ethical conduct which prohibit a prosecutor from
making public comment about any matter which he is actively prosecuting.
I have therefore had to sit by in silence as I have read letter after
letter to the editor concerning Dr. Orlando Cano from some of his patients
and how he was being mistreated by the criminal justice system in Fayette
County. Today the silence breaks.
Why
does Solicitor Harris get a free car?
The taxpayers of Fayette
County have always been asked to pay more and more in taxes every year
in order to maintain struggling county and municipal budgets. Justifications
have been heard over and over again, from growing need for additional
services to a new courthouse to more police to fight crime in order to
keep Fayette County safe. And we complain and we holler, but in the end
we pay.

perspectives on the ‘Peace tree’ controversy in PTC
Can you believe
those left-leaning, politically correct liberals? At a time when there
are so many wars, so much death and destruction, so much suffering and
so much upheaval in this world, they have the nerve to put up a tree
in a shopping center and call it a “Peace Tree”!
A
short pagan history lesson is in order here
Unbelievable. I
never would have imagined that the naming of a tree at Christmastime
would become a “turf-war.” Wow! And I thought an attempt to
bring all faiths together at a time when we need it most was a good
thing!

tree not only thing being taken
I can’t imagine
how great it must have been to be in the stands when Earnhardt finally
won the Daytona 500 or the excitement to have been present when the
USA hockey team won the gold medal at the Olympics.
Kids
miss roller rink
I live in Peachtree
City. We used to have a roller skating rink nearby that was a big hit
but then it closed down and was made into a mechanic shop.
Let’s
pick up trash
I have a concern. It seems that some people are messy.
I’m not trying to offend all the people that don’t use trashcans, but
we have a serious littering problem.
