As a POW, Jesus stayed true to character

Jesus was a Prisoner of War (POW). The saga of a POW intrigues us for two reasons: that which happens to him or her takes place in secret and we want to hear the details of the punishment and heroism.

St. Mary Magdalene's 'tin barn' provides unique setting for Holy Week activities

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Mission will celebrate the days of Holy Week, the "Triduum," within the young missions' present worship location in an old tin barn on 40 acres on Lower Fayetteville Road in Coweta County. Father Dan Fleming, administrator of St. Mary's said the congregation was excited about the "wondrous liturgies we will share in our very own 'outdoor cathedral.'"

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will celebrate the Day of Resurrection ­ Easter ­ in a series of services Sunday morning, April 20:

Christ the King to celebrate first Easter in new sanctuary

Members of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church will celebrate their first Easter services in the new sanctuary on Ga. Hwy. 34 in Sharpsburg and will have special events for Holy Week beginning Wednesday, April 16.

Sunrise service planned at Clayton State

On Easter Sunday, Apr. 20, Clayton State's Baptist Student Union, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Wesley Foundation will host the university's annual sunrise service to celebrate the Easter holiday. The service will be held in front of the university's library and begins at 7 a.m. In the event of rain, the service will be moved to the Clayton State Theater located in the arts and sciences building. The event is free and open to the public.

Atlanta City Church invites the community to its annual presentation of "Eternity: The Ultimate Experience," a hard-hitting drama about life after death.

F'ville UMC plans class on Alzheimer's

The community is invited to Fayetteville First United Methodist Church to explore the topic of Alzheimer's Disease on Wednesday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Room C-260.

Fayetteville First Baptist will offer ESL certifying classes in May

Fayetteville First Baptist church will offer an ESL (English as a Second Language) workshop for those interesting in becoming certified to teach English to Internationals. Sessions are scheduled for May 9, 10, 16 and 17. Attendance at all four sessions is required for certification. Missed sessions may be made up at another workshop.

Bible Baptist Church plans revival April 27-29

Bible Baptist Church in Newnan will have its annual "Friend Day and Old Paths Revival" Sunday through Tuesday, April 27-29.
