Fulton County prepared in case of bioterrorism

On a day when letters containing mysterious powder was sent to Georgia's two United States Senators, several dozen citizens packed the South Fulton Service Center last week to find out more about bioterrorism. An informational meeting was held March 25 to inform citizens about the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness role in preparing for a Bioterrorism event.

Poetry showcase set in East Point

The Friends of the East Point Library, Fulton County Arts Council, City of East Point, and Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will sponsor a Poetry Showcase at the East Point Library April 26 at 6 p.m.

Trash pickup changes

Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John W. Oxendine is urging Georgians to change the batteries in their smoke alarms at the same time they change their clocks to daylight saving time April 6.

The Peachtree City Inline Hockey League started its spring season March 8 with opening games.

New athletic programs in Peachtree City

The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce a couple of new athletic programs coming soon. One is geared toward our littlest athletes, and the other teaches one of the fastest-growing sports in the country today.

New summer golf programs

The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Whitewater Golf Club, will be offering a number of new golf programs for kids and adults this summer.
