New athletic programs in Peachtree City The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce a couple of new athletic programs coming soon. One is geared toward our littlest athletes, and the other teaches one of the fastest-growing sports in the country today. "Little Rookies" is an eight-week introductory class for three and four year-olds to the world of sports. This fun and non-competitive environment is a great way for children to learn about soccer and baseball in a way that is specifically designed for their age. The classes will be once a week, on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays, starting April 15-16-. The cost is $80 per camper. Lots of kids are rollerblading these days, but where do you go to learn how? In Extreme Rollerblading 101, kids will learn the basics of rollerblading, plus how to handle the ramps and obstacles at our state-of-the-art skatepark, and they may even pick up a few tricks. Open to ages eight and up, and participants must have some skating ability. Advanced class participants must have experience and a level of comfort skating on park obstacles. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings starting April 19. For more information call Jim O'Connell at 770-631-2542 or visit www.peachtree-city.org/recreation.
