Trash pickup changes Beginning this week, Latham Home Sanitation will take over weekly curbside pickup of yard and bulk waste for residents of unincorporated South Fulton County. South Fulton residents have enjoyed the free service since July 2001. Acceptable yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves, pine cones and limbs. Branches must be no greater than 12 inches in diameter and four feet in length, and bundled or placed in 32-gallon trash containers or brown paper bags. Bulk waste includes non-hazardous items that are typically too large for normal household trash pickup, such as mattresses, tires, appliances, refrigerators and air conditioners. Hazardous materials such as paint cans, motor oil, antifreeze and batteries will not be accepted. Residents can call Latham Home Sanitation at (770) 972-0999 for the pick-up schedule. For other information, call Ruby Curate, Fulton County Public Works Department, at 404/730-7508. The weekly route schedule and list of forbidden materials is also available at www.myfultoncountyga.us.
