Teams face formidable foes in fourth week

The third week of the high school football season is upon us and teams are either looking to continue their winning ways or to right their ships fast. The only home games in the area tonight are Fayette County vs. Newnan and Northgate vs. North Clayton.

AMS hosts NOPI Nationals this weekend

More than 80,000 car enthusiasts are expected this Saturday and Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the 15th annual NOPI Nationals Motorsports Supershow, one of the largest in the world. This year's NOPI Nationals will feature more than 6,000 show cars and trucks competing for over $100,000, and a smorgasbord of other activities, including hydraulic jump-offs, burnout contests, dyno contests, the World Bodybuilding Challenge, live music and a foam party.

PTC Recreation to host fun day for students durig school holidays

Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Dept. will hold an all day Friday Funday on Oct. 18 at the Kedron Fieldhouse off Kedron Drive in Peachtree City. Drop off begins at 7:45 a.m. for the day of activities which runs from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Friday Funday coincides with a school holiday for students / staff development day scheduled on the Fayette County Board of Education 2002-03 Calendar. Registration begins on Sept 15 for children ages 5 to 12 at the Kedron Fieldhouse and the Recreation Admin Building,off McIntosh Trail. The cost is $25 per child and is limited to 60 children. Children must bring their own lunch.
