McIntosh and Starr's Mill still alive in AAAAA title hunt

There are four teams left in the AAAAA girls state soccer tournament and two of them are from Fayette County. McIntosh's Lady Chiefs made the state semifinals by defeating Parkview 5-3 in overtime, while Starr's Mill survived by beating Roswell 3-0. Both McIntosh and Starr's Mill will host games tonight.

Tigers advance to second round of AAAAA state tournament

Can you leave work a little early today? If so, head over to Fayette County High School to watch the second round of the state baseball playoffs.

Gym South's Level Two team goes undefeated, wins state title

Gym South's Level Two gymnastic team, made up of local girls ages 7-10, won the state championship after an undefeated season.

Lightning hosts soccer camps next week

The AFC Lightning Soccer Club will host its annual May development camp May 19-23 at McCurry Park North. The camp is open for boys and girls in the U6-U14 age groups. There will be two sessions.

Optimist club offers junior golf tournament

The Optimist Club of Peachtree City will host a junior golf qualifying tournament Monday, June 3, at Flat Creek country club in Peachtree City. Tee times will begin at 8:25 a.m.

Annual Kid's Fun Run a success

The annual Peachtree City Kid's Fun Run was recently held at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. The Peachtree City Running Club sponsored this event, in which 130 children participated in the one-kilometer (ages 5-6) and one-mile (ages 7-12) events. All participants received treats donated by Publix, every child received a door prize and all runners received participation ribbons.
