Annual Kid's Fun Run a success
The annual Peachtree City Kid's Fun Run was recently held at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. The Peachtree City Running Club sponsored this event, in which 130 children participated in the one-kilometer (ages 5-6) and one-mile (ages 7-12) events. All participants received treats donated by Publix, every child received a door prize and all runners received participation ribbons. The first place boy and girl finishers in each age group received medals. The winners were five-year-olds Christine Landgren and John Michael Hall; six-year-olds Katie Husler and Brennan Cate; seven-year-olds Lacey Witta and Brennan Cate; eight-year-olds Caroline Evans and Miller Mrosek; nine-year-olds Alex Hall and Shawn mcVicker; 10-year-olds Shannon Mehl and Scott Oberse; 11-year-olds Whitney Huguelet and Kevin King; and 12-year-old Brendan Leonard. Times ranged from 5:03-5:38 for the 1K and 5:58-8:20 for the mile. King set a course record with his 5:58 time.
