Optimist club offers junior golf tournament
The Optimist Club of Peachtree City will host a junior golf qualifying tournament Monday, June 3, at Flat Creek country club in Peachtree City. Tee times will begin at 8:25 a.m. The tournament is open to boys and girls in age groups 10-11, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-18. The top finishers in each age group will advance to the Optimist District Junior Golf Championship at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. on June 13. The top finishers of that tournament will advance to the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships at the World famous PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. They will compete against celebrated junior golfers from around the world. Boys and girls ages 10-15 will compete July 20-22 and ages 16-18 will compete July 25-27. The finals will start July 28. Entry forms are available at Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City. They may also be obtained by calling Vince at 770-487-4217. No entry fee is required for the tournament but an entry fee must be submitted to the Optimist Club of Peachtree City, Box 2063, Peachtree City, Ga. before May 27.
