School board delays budget, ponders $32 million shortfall

The Fulton County Board of Education is waiting a little longer before it approves a budget for this year.

A sprawling development slated for South Fulton Parkway is starting to cause concern among some of the residents.

Last week's announcement by Williams Corp. that it intends to build a power plan in South Fulton County has caused barely a ripple on the political landscape yet.

For years, the perception of the south side of town by north side residents was something less than desirable.

South Fulton residents will know Monday if their services will be improved from Fulton County.

Programs that make recordings for the blind, provide support services for homeless women and children, and feed the hungry during holidays in Fulton County are among 131 that will share $4.4 million in human services grants during 2001-2002.

Starr's Mill and McIntosh set up double header of soccer in region championship

As you are reading this, there is a Region 4-AAAAA champion for boys and girls. The games were played last night at 6 and 8 p.m. at Starr's Mill. The results are on our Web site, www.thecitizennews.com.

Local teams have top performers in region track meet

The Region 4-AAAAA boys track meet was held at Starr's Mill last Saturday and Monday.

Baseball teams enter final weekend of the season

The regular season of high school baseball enters its final weekend this weekend. Most of the local teams are trying to build some momentum as they enter their region tournament.
