Baseball teams enter final weekend of the season

The regular season of high school baseball enters its final weekend this weekend. Most of the local teams are trying to build some momentum as they enter their region tournament.

East Coweta (14-7) lost to Stockbridge, 10-0, on Wednesday night. They will play at Riverdale tonight at 6:45 p.m. and will host Eagle's Landing at 4:30 on Monday to finish up their regular season schedule. Fayette County (11-10) lost to Henry County, 4-1 on Wednesday and will host Jonesboro tonight at 7 p.m. Their final game of the season will be on Monday at Morrow at 5:45 p.m.

McIntosh (8-12) beat Morrow, 5-0 on Wednesday. They will play at Evans at noon on Saturday and will host Stockbridge on Monday night at 7 p.m. Starr's Mill (8-11) faced Evans on Wednesday and lost 7-4. Their final game of the season will be at Riverdale on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Sandy Creek, our local AAAA team, is currently 10-10. They lost to Rockdale County on Monday, 11-5. The Patriots have four games left this season. They will host Heritage today at 5:30 p.m. and play at Jones County on Monday at 5:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Sandy Creek will host Salem at 5:30 p./m. and on Friday they will travel to Woodward Academy for a game at 5:30 p.m.
