Playoffs set to begin close to home

The regular season of high school football ended last Friday night. Some teams will live on in the state playoffs, while others must concentrate on the positive aspects of their seasons and look forward to next year on the gridiron.

Fayette County has long been known its their dominant youth soccer program, but it may soon be known for having an excellent youth football program as well.

Getting to the away game

The only away football game this week is Landmark Christian at Adairsville. To get to this game travel on I-85 North to the I-85/I-75 split. Take I-75 North towards Marietta/Chattanooga and merge on to I-75 North. Take Exit 306 (the Ga. 140 exit) towards Adairsville. Keep left at the fork and turn left on to Ga. 140 West and then turn left on to U.S. 41 South.

NAPA 500 this weekend

The Winston Cup points race is over and the champion has been decided. Though Bobby Labonte clinched his first championship last weekend, he isn't about to coast in the season's final race, the NAPA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Soccer season ends for Lakers in OT
