Playoff picture shaping up as season end nears

The regular season of high school football ended for several teams last Friday night. For some teams, there is a postseason to look forward to, while others look forward to a better season next year.

Landmark runners repeat as state champs

The state cross country championships were held last Saturday at Carrollton High School. The Landmark Christian boys and girls ran in the Class A meet, while the Fayette County boys and the McIntosh girls ran in the Class AAAAA meet.

Fayette Special Olympians compete in state event

Recently, Special Olympic athletes from Fayette County competed in the State Fall Games in LaGrange.

Speedway rained out

Mother Nature stuck it to Senoia Speedway last Saturday night for the third time of the season as rains moved in to cancel the first ever Super Bowl of Asphalt Champions presented by the speedway.

Lakers going to NCAAs

The Clayton College & State University men's soccer team received an invitation to the "Big Dance" Monday. The "Big Dance" is the 16-team NCAA Division II Soccer Tournament, and for the first time ever, the Lakers will have an opportunity to put on their "boogie shoes" and strut their stuff.

Harlem Legends coming Nov. 11

If you listen closely, you can hear the tune of "Sweet Georgia Brown" getting closer and closer. That's because on Saturday, Nov. 11, the Harlem Legends, a team made up fo former Harlem Globetrotters, will host a clinic at Fayette County High School and will then take on the Fayette County All Stars.

Nominations for Fayette County Sports hall of Fame have begun

Fayette County High School has begun the process of selections for their Sports Hall of Fame Celebration for 2001and would like the public's help in soliciting nominations.
