Join us as we 'unplug' and fast for a week...

Some folks at River's Edge Community Church are experiencing anticipatorial withdrawal as we count the days to a church-wide television fast, Nov. 12-19. Many of our members already have signed commitments pledging they will keep the one-eyed monster unplugged a full week. Some, however, are wondering if they could survive without television.

Many of you know I was well into my middle age years before I finally found my little niche in life here in the newspaper business. And, strangely enough, it was right here in this building, nearly 20 years ago, just a couple of rooms down the hall, where I first started my new careeras receptionist and advertising secretary for the old Fayette Sun. Even more strange is the fact that I also did religion newsbriefs, if you willexactly what I'm doing now, and from exactly the same source, your bulletins and newsletters. My career has truly gone full circle, hasn't it?

Benji Mallory to speak at Nov. Women's Aglow meeting

Benji Clark Mallory will be the featured speaker at this month's meeting of Women's Aglow Fellowship International, Peachtree City Chapter, Monday evening, Nov. 13, and Tuesday morning, Nov. 14. Both meetings will be held at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 202 Robinson Rd. in Peachtree City, next to Mowell Funeral Home.

'Experiencing God' musical to be presented at Rolling Hills Baptist

The Rolling Hills Baptist Church choir and band will present "Experiencing God," a musical, this Sunday, Nov. 12, at 10:50 a.m. at the church on Redwine Rd. The production is under the direction of Dan Riordan.

Greentree Baptist will host 'God and Country' celebration Sunday

Retired Lt. Gen. John J. Yeosock, former commander of U.S., U.K. and French forces during Operation Desert Storm, will be the featured speaker this Sunday, Nov. 12, at 10:45 a.m. when Greentree Baptist Church presents its annual "God and Country Thanksgiving Celebration."

River's Edge Church's worship center will be open for nightly prayer

The worship center at River's Edge Community Church is open every night of the week from 7-8:30 p.m. for prayer, anointing with oil, deliverance ministry and reading of the scriptures.

Members of Bethany United Methodist Church will have their annual Perlieu stew and bazaar this Saturday, Nov. 11 at the church.

Barbecue bolsters care fund

Ebenezer United Methodist Church recently had its annual fall festival to raise funds for a perpetual care fund for its cemetery.

Fayetteville UMC will offer a 'date your mate' night

The children's ministries at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will sponsor a "Date- Your-Mate' night on Friday, Nov. 17 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. to give parents a night out and children an evening of fun.
