Ebenezer United Methodist Church recently had its annual fall festival to raise funds for a perpetual care fund for its cemetery.

The men's club under the supervision of Bill Rabern and the women's club under Patsy Banks raised just over $6,000 to start the fund. It has been estimated that it will take $10,000 a year to fund the program.

More than 500 chicken halves were cooked by experts Jerry Mask and Tom Rush, members of the Fayette Shrine Club. They brought along the Shrine steam cooker, which can cook about 40 halves at one time.

Various ladies of the church made a quilt that was sold at a silent auction. The bidding started at $200 and the winning bid was $525.
