annual Memorial Day celebration.

A story in last Friday's Citizen
Review should have said that Kevin and Carolyn
O'Keefe were convicted in Fayette County State Court
last spring of obstruction of a law enforcement
officer, and that verdict was later set aside. An
additional charge of maintaining a disorderly house
was dismissed at the beginning of the trial.
Pro tennis tournament to
benefit county's domestic violence council
The Fayette County Council on
Domestic Violence has found a new sponsor to help in
its ongoing efforts to raise both money and awareness
for its cause.
Recreation Dept. starts
Adopt-a-Park program
The Peachtree City Recreation
Department has initiated an Adopt-a-Park program that
will enable individuals, businesses or civic groups
to help keep a selected park or recreational area
cleaned up
Candidate cookout is set
The Fayette Young Republicans
and Aaron's Systems Inc. of Fayetteville will host a
2000 qualifying kickoff cookout Monday, featuring
Republican candidates for local and state office.
School roundtable set
The Fayette County school system
will host a community round table Wednesday, April 26
starting at 7 p.m. at the LaFayette Education
Complex. The subject is technology in the schools,
and will be led by Ed Steil, technology director for
the county schools.
Student art winners
announced
Newnan High School artist Janin
Wimer won the 3rd Congressional District art show and
will travel to Washington to see her artwork hung in
the Capitol for an entire year, Rep. Mac Collins
announced Thursday.
Furcal to sign autographs
to benefit PTC little league
On Saturday, April 22, between
11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Atlanta Braves sensational
shortstop Rafael Furcal will be making a public
appearance and signing autographs to benefit
Peachtree City Little League.
PTC Wind Ensemble to hold
reunion next week
The Peachtree Wind Ensemble is
inviting all former band members to join them April
24, Monday evening from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. for a
reunion of fun, music, and great food. Come reminisce
with former and present members and remember to bring
your instrument to try out some of the new music for
this season.
Drama Fest for middle
schoolers this Saturday
The Rising Starr Drama Club will
host the second annual Fayette County Drama Festival
on Saturday, April 22. The drama festival is open to
all interested middle school students. Each student
will have the opportunity to participate in four
workshops and to attend three presentations.

City will sponsor a junior golf clinic at the Wendell
Coffee Golf Center in Tyrone.

Recently, the school children of
Coweta County took the Iowa Test of Basic Skills and
the Georgia High School Graduation Tests. Hopefully,
they all did well. Certainly, I hope they do better
than recent results would indicate.

championships
The drama to make the state
playoffs is now over, but there will be at least one
more big game for the local soccer teams before they
begin.

prepare for region meet in track
The region track meets will be
early next week and the local high school track teams
look ready, having put on good performances all
season long.
Youth triathlon coming soon
The 9th annual Peachtree City
Youth triathlon will be held on June 3. The race
starts at 7:30 a.m. at Glenloch Recreation Area and
is open to children ages 7-15. The cost of the race
is 18 and the deadline for registration is May 23.
There will be a swim qualifier on May 18 from 6-8
p.m. at the kedron pool. Call 770-785-2595 for more
