Wieland & his townhomes are not for the West Village.

We need to let the Mayor and Council Members hear from us regarding the absurd number of additional townhomes that Wieland wants to build in the West Village. It would seem that there a plenty there now.

I'm not sure ANY townhomes need to be in this latest plan. Much less the absurd number proposed. Remember, if the Mayor and Council don't hear from you, they'll assume it's fine.

homes will add tremendous value to the tax rolls and at $350M and up the quality of homeowners will be good citizens. Generally we are talking empty nesters that do not add much demand on services. The best kind of citizens, who will pay school taxes for another 15 or 20 years with no kids in school.

Excepting the traffic problems that come with density, I think Weiland will do a real service to the county.

That in not necessarily true. The empty nester crowd adds to the emergency services far more than to younger couples.

Look up the Logsdon Report blogs, they covered the service issue.

So, lets kill off everyone at, lets say 50, so they won't be a burden to our health system and our ambulances. What do you say? Are you 50 yet? Such a stupid discussion, it is like it is OK to kill for killing.

I have been in Wieland's townhomes, on the north side of Atlanta and here in PTC. His townhomes are magnificent, classy, expensive looking and sell well above the average home here in PTC. My husband and I are empty nesters and have been considering a townhome in the future simply because we do not want to maintain a lawn and the upkeep of a larger home....too much to clean! We moved from the north side of Atlanta because of the traffic congestion and what we perceived as a rise in crime.....looks like it has followed us here.

But like I said below, I think the numbers need to be adjusted downward. Check out the development just across from McIntosh High School too. They are very nice.

I think you'll enjoy it here in PTC....I know my Family does...

McDonoughDawg,

I'm not sure if you have been inside of any of the townhomes that Mr. Wieland has built, or is building in Centennial; but they are very nice and are selling quite well.

There is indeed a demand here for them and most are selling for prices well above the average house in Peachtree City. These are not your average townhome and they show that, inside and out.

The point is the housing number is way too, too high. Wieland jumped from 300 homes to 881. That's highway robbery, excuse the pun.

We need that number to get a lot closer to 300. Now if you want to make part of that lower number townhomes, go ahead. I've got to tell you that I'm seriously believing the theory that the CSX side track for parking trains was rigged. Just look at what the "loss" of the South Kedron connector road has done. The developers are now in control using the bridge as an extortion tool to inflate their profits.

Where are the serious cost figures on the bridge? The scare tactics need to stop and let's start working with some real numbers. The Logsdon crew has totally lost control of this one. Wieland and Levitt even went to ARC looking for final approvals and hadn't even been granted annexation from into the city. Who's driving the bus?

But I think the newest proposal has way too many of them. There is another big townhome development in PTC already, just across from McIntosh High School. These are also very nice. I just think the Wieland numbers need to be adjusted downward.

I agree with McDonoughDawg.
