TDK Extension, let yourself be heard. Yes or No..

In light of all the proposals on the table just over the line with Coweta, and in light of NO access being accounted for on the Coweta side of the property. I'm very much against going forward with the TDK Road Extension. The question is, is it too late to stop it? IF not, what can we do to stop it?

I put this on your other post, but I'll put it here too.

I think you need to turn your question around McDonoughDawg: What can possibly keep the city and county from stopping the road?

I've seen road committments withdrawn before. In fact, I think I read that the Pathway property doesn't close until late September/early October. That's another way.

We had all better get on the ball and e-mail these people!

Stopping TDK will save us a lot of grief.

It is all contingent upon the city buying that land from Pathways. Simply cancel the sale. That stops the road.

Then Tom Reese will buy the land (and Mitchell will be able to charge him even more) and the road will go through anyway.

Right now about 95% of Peachtree City eligible voters would vote against the TDK extension. It doesn'r matter. We elected someone to vote for us with his vote and his loyalty, and now we must live with that mistake for the sake of a few more multi-millionaires being formed. Democracy can not work, republicanism works for some.

Actually Mudcat, the Pathway land, purchased at way above value, was for runway clearance and moving the golf holes. You could still go through with the outrageous purchase and just not build the road. Wouldn't that be puurrrfect.

I've seen it thrown around that it was "above" market value. I've priced land in PTC lately, and believe me, it's high, very high. I don't know exactly how many acres were involved, or the price agreed to, but most any number wouldn't surprise me. I spoke yesterday, that the most we had to lose was to just buy the land and hold it. Or at least that would seem so.

I've always heard land is worth what someone will pay, and what someone will take. Appraisals are certainly not science, and are subject to review.

For my info, what were the figures?

I asked before and I’ll ask again.

How do we know what the land appraised for?

Did the city get an independent appraisal?

That would be the perfect way to handle it.
