I don't know any of these people but I don't have to know them to know that the Georgia Jails have numerous young (mostly black) kids there for up to ten years for as little as stealing and running with a loaf of bread to eat. It is not the amount but the potential threat. They might even buy a helicopter and sell county cars if not watched. In this day and time greed and power are prevalent and there must be checks and balances.

I posted that last weekend but my numbers were more accurate. You left out the attorney's fees.

Sure, they have issues - both of them and will get voted out --- for the wrong reasons.

Dunn because his ego got out of control, Wells, because she did not have an ego or the guts to stand up to Dunn.

So now we get Maxwell and Chapman. Better people for sure. Public servants, for sure. Good for one term, sure.

Now, who's Chairman? - Frady Yes, not good. What happens with the next rezoning or annexation? Yes x 4, maybe 5 depending upon Horgan being awake.

Be careful what you wish for.

Gee Whiz, I remember you were all for Horgan. Just as predicted, he is a total dud. He is still clueless and thinks the government should do everything for everyone. Just like the good Democrat that he is. Yes, be careful what you wish for. You and the rest of us will have to put up with Horgan. He will not be elected for another term. Pathetic.

There is little Commissioner Horgan can do right now with the three amigos so closely joined at the hip (and shivering at what may happen next.) Com Horgan could sit on the Board and spout off at the mouth, but he would accomplish nothing and only lower him self to the level of the ones we want out. My opinion is he's biding his time until cooler heads arrive on the board and they can go about the buisness of doing buisness without the expense of constant litigation they can't seem to win.

Horgan is a good man and I feel for him when I see mean spirited people on this web site trashing him knowing he has only the best intentions. Unfortunately Com Horgan, that is the way politics in Fayette County has become. Out-of-county visitors who never left and want to take over (Dunn, Wells, Brown) and are vicious in their tactics make it difficult for good people to serve. In the long run, if we don't rid ourselves of these vile people, we will have nothing but their kind as public servants.

Remember it was Janet that said "I know it's cheap but you play the hand that's dealt ya." No Janet, we don't. We play the hand we were raised to play.

Mudcat, wait and give the new group a chance, it can only get better and by-the-way, I don't think Highgreen is Brown, I think he/she's another Janet. Brown wouldn't care about the Sheriff's helicopter, that's Dunn and Well's obsession.

JD SAID: "Out-of-county visitors who never left and want to take over (Dunn, Wells, Brown) and are vicious in their tactics make it difficult for good people to serve."

Aren't Dunn, Wells, and Brown each "visitors who never left"?

I guess I'm one of them too. Maybe I should be deported along with the rest of the "visitors who never left". Or do I get to stay because I married one you?

As for Horgan....he was elected to stand up to the shenanigans of the current commissioners. Not sit their quietly biding his time so he can be a "go-a-long and get-a-long". This country and county was not made great by timid, weak, and mushy personalities that wanted to be nice to everyone. His silence and passiveness is a rubber stamp to the self serving leadership we are now experiencing.

First of all Git Real -- Dunn Wells and Brown are the ones I was referring to in that sentence. You either read it wrong or I wrote it poorly.

Secondly, I'm not saying all transplants are bad, just the ones that come in with the opinion that only they know how to run our county.

Thirdly, different people have different personalities. Trying to stand up to the three amigos when he knows he doesn't have the votes to back him would only come across as bickering and that is not his way. It may be yours, but everyone has different ways they choose to deal with problems.

I should end by saying I am not speaking for him I am only defending his tactics because I happen to agree with them. Everyone is tired of the bickering.

Don't discount Horgan so quickly-
I voted for Horgan and am also disappointed that he has not done more to stand up to Dunn & Co. Hopefully once Dunn & Wells are gone he will prove to be a good commissioner-
It's up to him- only time will tell.

The way he conducted his campaign was enough for me. Totally irresponsible in every way. He plastered signs everywhere without permission. Started his campaign with an ethics violation. Didn't you love the signs with his white face on them? Ran as a Republican, but is really a Democrat. Anything to win. Someone like that cannot make a good public servant. In time you will agree with my assessment. In the meantime, if Chapman and Maxwell get elected you will have a real circus. Chapman jumping around everywhere like a hyper flea. Herb as chairman. Horgan nodding his head like one of those dogs in the rear window of a car. We will all long for the days of Sprayberry and Burrell.

none of you know what you're spouting about. And pretty easy to see none of you have been to a commission meeting.

Jack Smith will replace Wells, and of course Eric Maxwell will have Dunn's seat.

Horgan a democrat??? What BS that is. Such comments as that prove you don't have a clue.

And Frady chairman? I doubt that. I doubt Frady even wants to be
chairman. But nothing could be worse than the two goons up there now.

I'd suggest you go to the commission meetings and meet with Horgan, Maxwell and Smith individually before posting silly comments. Good chance you will learn something.

Have to agree that Wells and Dunn are gone. Just because they deserve to be canned doesn't mean that their opponents are worth anything. I disagree that its for the wrong reasons. Greg Dunn doesn't listen. We pick the Sheriff, not him. Anytime a politician is out of touch, they deserve to be gone. Like Brown. Mudcat was a huge Brown hater and an obvious shill for the neanderthals. That explains the hearty endorsement for Maxwell and Chapman, both of who are certifiably ethically challenged. As far as overpowering narcolepsy, don't count Herb out on that one either. I would have considered voting for Jack Smith but he apparently quit running. What's the deal there is he off the ballot. I agree with the post earlier--- vote but write in.
