Chapman & Maxwell = OVER POPULATION / HIGH DENSITY

Mr. Chapman will support housing developers because he will profit from...mortgages.

Mr. Maxwell will support housing developers because he will profit from...fees.

See the truth good friends, these two, if elected, will demolish anything in sight to build this County into an over-populated mess. Is that what you want? I think not.

The biggest reason not to elect Chapman is that he has no qualifications whatsoever. Just because he has his momma's money doesn't give him credibility. Plus he one of the most annoying people in the WORLD! If you have ever held a conversation with him and know what the point of the conversation was, you are one up on me. The boy can't get to the point if his life depended on it.

checked out the "Legal Aliens" (wink wink) "Lil Sammy" uses (and pays cash) in his other business? Just another reason do consider who to vote for in the upcomming elections.

There are many reasons to despise Chapman and Maxwell as candidates for commission. But, your examples are so lame and amateur. Your examples have about as much credibility as a democrat accusing a Republican of being out to Get Old People. Come on incumbent supporters. You gotta do better than that.

You failed to name any reasons to despise Chapman and Maxwell, but you were right in one sense of the word, Chapman is an amateur, incapable of being elected.

Neither is beholden to developers, which proves that the majority of the people who post here really don't have a clue, you in particular.

There hasn't been a candidate on the scene in my memory that cares more about Fayette County than Eric Maxwell. And I can't recall any elected commissioners in recent years more DESPISED THAN WELLS AND DUNN.

I suppose it's good fortune for all the candidates that there are only a few dozen that post here from simply uninformed to totally stupid positions. Not enough people to influence the outcome of any election.

Mr. Robert m,

I have seen that Mr. Dunn and Ms. Wells have been very strong in support of those things that keep the county an enviable place to live. They have held the budget down from what I read, they are extremely interested in maintaining a super level of service for all county residents. You despise them for that?

I believe that Mr. Maxwell has taken quite a bit of money from developers here recently to get his campaign rolling. Would you, being a reasonable person, believe that those people would be backing him because they feel he is more in favor of their view than the view of the two people presently there. Otherwise, why would they support him? Do you have examples of where Mr. Maxwell has shown his care for the county?

Thanks Greg / Janet / Peter or whichever one you are. We appreciate your views but your self potraits descibe a fairy tale utopia that does not exist. When slinging honey all over yourselves please be careful and don't get any on the rest of us. We don't want to drip.

OK. I admit that Dunn, Linda and the follower are better than Burrell and Sprayberry. Perhaps, I hesitate to add, Greg would be better than Maxwell. Gulp...the tough part to swallow is that this is the only choice we have. Yeah...I know...why didn't I run if I'm so smart. Tell you what Greg. Cut the crap with the sheriff, obey the open meetings laws, release the super secret files you and the Sixth Commissioner are hiding and WE the taxpayers are paying for at the point of a gun and I'm off your back. One more thing to remember is we really don't care how the rest of the ARC folks do it.

You have to understand that if the Sheriff's office wasted some taxpayers money then WHAT IS THE BIG SURPISE THERE? Don't you think we're somewhat used to that by now? You wasted the taxpayers money on paying the Sixth Commissioner off. Get your own house in order first. If we the taxpayers want to go after the Sheriff then we'll let you know. We're going after you because no matter what you say and how you spin it our taxes keep substantially increasing and rather than fight with the sheriff that we elected work with him to help this county keep it's tough crime fighting reputation (in spite of Bruce Jordan).

Whew! I feel better now. Let me go suck down another Mountain Dew and get ready for my next posting.

Have you forgotten the most despised Sprayberry & Burrell. They were openly on the take. Remember Sprayberry's job with that local engineering company where he did not have a job description? He was on the payroll though. He had many conflicts of interest and refused to vote for the ethics ordinance. Wonder why? Wells & Dunn are honest. They both have the best interest of the county in their votes. Now you may not like their personalities. but they are good commissioners.

And don't forget that Scott Burrell's largest insurance client was the wonderfully uncorrupted and moral and former county commissioner, Steve Black and his daddy's company, PCDC. $28,000 per year for insurance premiums is what I remember reading in The Citizen. This was at a time when the sewer system was being extended to The Chimney's subdivision against all precedent or logic. How did Scott vote on that one?

Personally I don't vote for a candidate's personality. I look at the record. Linda Wells is one of the smartest women I have seen. She is well informed about the issues and always does her homework before meetings. She is highly educated and quite well spoken. I would like to see her be Chairman and thus be the spokesman for the County.

This is obviously going to be another lame, local campaign. I agree-- the arguments being posted for the candidates are nonsense and no better than grade schoolers--- "You stink.....No, you do."

And the argument that the incumbents are better than Sprayberry and Burrell ? WOW !!! That's about like saying, vote for me because I was never arrested on corruption charges. And as to the Linda argument "Oh she is no nice and so smart"--- that leads to the conclusion that we should vote for the best education in that race--- she loses. So, how wise is that argument?

Bottom line--- we have a good lifestyle in Fayette. What will be done to keep it that way for the future ? Current Commission gets a plus for zoning. Current Commission gets an "F" for attempting to dismantle our good law enforcement. Unfortunately, the biggest remaining issue is our schools (which is our biggest budget) and the voters are completely in the dark on that one. If you did a poll of people in Fayette, I would bet that less than 1/3 could even name one person on the school board.

So let's get this debate issue oriented: Zoning; Open Government; Law Enforcement; Roads; Taxes. That's it.

It will be a very lame local campaign. Fact is county commission can do very little to help or hurt us with the huge obvious exception of zoning and development. Now you have Wells, Dunn and Pfiefer saying no to everything. Frady is clearly pro development. Since the new guy can be easily influenced, our focus should be on whether we want pro development Maxwell and crazy pro development Chapman to take a seat on that commission. Either would tip the balance on rezoning votes, both would create a monster.

Do the current commissioners really say no to everything? I thought that they used the land use plan as a guide. If it is in the plan it goes forward. If it is not part of the plan and it would increase density or impact the area adversely it is turned down. Am I mistaken? Is there a case where they said no just for the heck of it?

Wow. Another election cycle and we hold our noses and pull the lever. Great points PTC Guy & Pritty Kitty.

Not a mention of this yet but let's thrown him out in the ring. What are your opinions on the CPA. His last name is Smith and I do not know him. I will be researching him closely to see if there's a glimmer of hope. He is running against Linda and the nut case. For starters one plus I see is that he should understand what makes a business run successfully and what doesn't. He should understand the difference between being in the red and in the black. If he's any good at being a CPA he should know how to identify wasteful areas of spending and where one could chop a little to get on budget. Just wondering.

He could be ten times worse than Chapman but at this point I don't know. Thanks in advance guys.
