Stealing out of vehicles

Today I ate lunch at Macaroni Grill and when I came out, my car had been entered and all the bills I had paid with a check were stolen from my vehicle and the other compartments in my vehicle were rifled through for other things to take. Luckily, there wasn't anything left to steal. I had to close my checking account, notify all the vendors that those checks were stolen and pay all those bills with money orders. What a pain in the neck, I still can't believe that I was violated like that. Anyone else have the same experience? Is this an unusual occurance? Are the police patrolling the parking areas for this type of crime?

That sounds exactly like Peachtree City. It was about a year ago when a desperate housewife who didn't want to work for a living stole checks out of peoples mail boxes. Most of the people here live paycheck to paycheck. They are in way over their heads trying to keep up with the "Jones". I bet most of the crime here is commited by people who have created a lifestyle they can't afford.

Please Stop Complaining about PTC

I think it is so ungrateful for you little people to constantly attack and criticize Peachtree City. Don’t you comprehend the sacrifices for the community that have been made by so many charitable and giving leaders of the business community ? These people have fine reputations and you should be thankful what they have done for you. They gave of themselves so that you could have such fine places to shop and dine and you really should be more grateful. As for the car break-ins, did you lock your car ? And so what— it was a good opportunity for those youngsters to get a little exercise and some fresh air.

You state:

"And so what— it was a good opportunity for those youngsters to get a little exercise and some fresh air."

That is the worst case of parody I have ever heard. If not made in jest, then you have serious issues. Please clue me in on your real thoughts so I don't think there is another weanie out there.

Was your car locked or did they bust your window out. Sounds like a good reason to have a carry permit so you can go out there and blast em in the parking lot with your Glock and let the clean up crew haul off the debris they are. Sorry that happened to you. You might call scum like that an Economic Terrorist.

Could be an isolated incident. But the town I moved to, and used to love, has changed dramatically in a 5yr period. Fayettedale is moving south and with that comes....well we'll soon find out. Not us though. We're getting while the getting is good and before Delta drags everyones home value under.

Lately I have been hearing a lot about the "recent decline of Fayetteville" with strong comparisons to Riverdale.

Is it simply because the area is becoming more "colorful"? I've posted on this before, but I knowingly moved into a mixed (perhaps 50/50) neighborhood 9 years ago. It seems to be keeping about that same ratio. In fact, very few of the original owners have moved away.

I've not noticed title pawns and tattoo parlors as yet. What, exactly, is the evidence of decline? (This is not a confrontational challenge: I really wish to know.)

Well, when we first moved here we did not worry about theft when we went to Fayetteville.

But, of late, twice in a row we went to the Fayetteville Walmart with larger flag magnets on our vehicle. Twice they were stolen.

We won't let anything be easily excessible on our vehicle now.

Also, while it happens about everywhere randomly, it is also about impossible to go there and not be 'entertained' by someones' speakers blasting so hard your vehicle vibrates.

Yes, the little town we feel in love with and moved to 2 1/2 yrs ago has changed....I am sick of seeing Clayton County cars in the drop off line at my son's school. Fayetteville is turning very "ghetto" and if you don't agree, open up your eyes and take a good look around. We will be moving back to California when our daughter graduates in a few years.

Because we all know there are no problems in Southern California. Just tranquility, peace and love for everyone. Yeah right!!!

Like I always say:
"Ryder rents" and "Delta is ready when you are"

How much did you get involved in while you were here? Did you contribute anything or just consume?

I apologize for a change from my normal posting language, but I am having a bad day and it does not take much to get me going today. That said, see ya and don't come back if we backwoods folks ain't good enough for ya!!!!

Please indicate where I called any Fayette County citizen "backwards". Get your facts straight. I love the majority of citizens who have welcomed my family and been so kind to us, regardless of color. What I find replusive are the groups of "Riverdale trash" that hang out at the movie theater and make disgusting comments to my 15 yr old daughter and her friends. Or the ghetto trash cruising around the Pavillion with their bass so loud, my rearview mirror shakes.

And have you ever been to San Clemente? If not, don't embarass yourself further by talking about things you know nothing of.

I have been to San Clemente. I am not embarrassed in the least.

My comment was an inference based on the many, many comments I hear from people at work, vendors, customers and elsewhere who always say where they came from was so much better than here. But here they are anyway. No, you did not say that. But can you deny the sentiment?

I hate the trash and problems coming here. We can’t run or put our heads in the sand and hope it goes away. It takes action. My wife’s car was broken into and everything stolen. The problems with canceling cards, new drivers license, etc was disturbing.

Fayette county citizens have to WAKEUP and take back our streets. It starts with government leaders who give a [[[self deleted]]]. I don’t see any. The sheriff and his deputies are busy fighting political battles. King Dunn won’t work with him and that is causing problems. The cities are more interested in creating variances so their construction and finance buddies can make a buck. The land use plan is in the toilet. The schools won’t fight the illegal students entering our schools. Everyone is more interested in being politically correct instead of making and enforcing decisions that are best for the community.

The county is not full of problems. There are wonderful things that happen here and things to do. It is not all gloom and doom. But if we don’t get a clue and WAKEUP, then Fayette County will be just like Clayton.

Since there are elections in November, I challenge each commissioner to address the real issues. Many that have been mentioned here. When will they get out from behind the 6th commissioner and say something that has merit? Instead, I only hear excuses. They need to WAKEUP or incumbents will fill the board.

WakeUp. Don't hold back. Tell em how you really feel about it. For what it's worth the Lion stands with you.

What I don't understand is how these Softies can justify bad behavior whether it's coming from the black, white, or hispanic races. I really don't care who my neighbor is as long as they blend in as Americans. Loud, ear hurting noise is obnoxious coming from any people group. I.D. theft and stealing is wrong from any people group. The reason certain groups are feared and not tolerated is because of their poor behavior regardless of race. Look in this paper and view the arrests that our Fayette County law officials make and it will give you a snap shot of WHERE THE CRIME IS COMING FROM. For everyone they catch how many victims have the other Scumbags perpetuated their crimes on?

California Bedwetter. Before you say that our law enforcement is making these arrest by racial profiling please spare us and save it. They are making these arrests because the {{{{DELETED}}} SCUMBAGS are {{{{DELETED}}}} guilty. When does your acceptance of bad behavior end??? When one of you family members gets killed or raped???? Why are you here anyway?????????????

WakeUp has every right to be upset.

Submitted by SoCalMama on Fri, 04/28/2006 - 1:07pm.

...then quote properly! I never said a WORD about the law enforcement in Fayette County! I love Fayette County, the community and citizens are lovely. What I hate is the trash (Black, white, green or blue) coming into this fine community and destroying a peaceful existence my family has come to love so much.

Why am I here? My husband was transferred to Fayette County from California because of the lack of culinary talent in this city!!!! I pay my taxes and support my children's schools, my family's curch and give hefty donations to various Fayette organizations.....what the hell do you do here beside complain?

I got the jest of what you were saying. This is a cute, quaint, little place that you have come to tolerate since your unable to live in your beloved California. I personally apologize that your husband had to lower himself and come over here to show us what real cookin is all about. Since he's been here I have discovered that there is more to life than bar-b-que and grits. You have broadened my culture and I will never again have to eat at Melears agin.

Hope hubby got enough cookin practice to go work in one of them thar real restaurants in Calyfournia.

What do I do. Nothing. Just sit here complaining all day.

I hate the trash moving here too. I hate that your daughter is harassed in public. I hate there is a rash of automobile break ins. I hate the loud noise (notice no refrence to music) coming from cars that are about to shake apart. We are on the same side. The agravating part is the thought process where someplace else is always better than here. Take even the concept where there is no one this side of San Clemente that has culinary experience which is in such high demand. That is what sets people off and will lead to heated discussions. We appreciate your charity and support of your church and school. I don't know you, but thanks for being here. Thanks for your contributions to our community. It takes all types to make a good community (except the trash types). When you move; don't go away angry, but content you made a difference.

I can accept criticism about the city or county; just don't infer "my home town is better...", that gets the entire dialog off on the wrong foot.

I love love love Fayette County! It is beautiful and the schools are the best! 10x's better than California, in fact, my children we so far behind Fayette school when we moved here that their teachers graciously worked with them and recommended tutors for my children to catch up. What I hate to see is the trash ruining this fine small town. Every city has it's plses and minuses. But unless the local government steps up and get it's act together, Fayette will eventually succumb to Clayton County.

I can't tell you how many cars I see from Clayton County every morning in the drop off line and every afternoon in the pick up line. One thing our school in CA used to do, twice a year students had to provide proof of residency and the county did occasional follow up visits to ensure authenticity. Maybe the FCBOE should implete such a program.

Alright then, now we are getting somewhere. Isn't it amazing how a post about stealing from cars gets around to the root of a lot of problems. SoCalMama has it right. Come on FCBOE, wakeup and support your employer, the taxpayers of Fayette County. I like checking the residency of students twice a year. But you, FCBOE, will have to do something with those don't or won't comply.

Clayton County is the source of a lot of problems. We have our own, home grown problems, but like Get Real said the other day, look at the arrests listings. How many of those are residents from other areas.

Thanks for your support, Lion. I am getting more and more fed up with liberalism, "tolerance", selfishness and other junk. (I wish I could safely use more colorful metaphors). I am about as conservative as they come, and I don't care what color people are, as long as they assimilate and take part.

At least I know the lion, Hamster (I know there is no "P" in there), the cute mudcat and others on this board care. Now if only we could get others to care.

Thanks friend. Today is just one of those days!!!!

No place is 100% safe and crime free.

But PTC is indeed one of the safest around. Comparitively speaking.

My fear is that with continued growth the criminals are pushing into Fayette County more and more. And the bad economy is creating more crooks.

Not a race issue. Crooks come in all colors.

But it is an issue of increased opportunity encourages more lucrative day and night excursions for these types.
