Free Speech run amok
I was really appalled by the attack on Greg Dunn and Linda Wells in Free Speech this week.
Although I am fairly certain the author
is most likely a disgruntled former employee with an ax to grind, I did not think I could sit quietly and let this kind of attack go unanswered. I do not know Greg Dunn that well. I know what I read, and I know that my limited contact with him over the years what I read does not match up with the man.
Say what you will about style (or lack of it) but from what I see he is sincere in his effort to do what is best for the people of Fayette County. When you scan the political landscape, rest assured that he is, by comparison to those who choose to try to replace him, the best choice.
But as far as Linda Wells in concerned I must weigh in here. I met Linda at a Chamber of Commerce some years ago.
I also heard a speech she made to the Fayette Board of Realtors last year.
She is without a doubt one of the kindest, most articulate and genuine people I have ever met. During her time here in Fayette County she has an unblemished record of service to the community. Whether as an interpreter for the deaf,(something I found out about in her speech) an active member of the board of health, Director of the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence or a staunch supporter of small business in the county through her own company, Ms. Wells has been anything but distainful of anyone, county employee or private citizen. In fact, from what I gather she is well recognized among the county employees as the most effective of all of the commissioners. It is important when you see this kind of attack being put forth in any forum that people be made aware of the truth, not the rantings of some disgruntled individual.
