Political Mud Slinging against Fleisch and Haddix at Holy Trinity, WWJD?Barb Curasi is flooding the good folks at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with political propaganda and total lies. There never was a plot to replace the city manager. In fact, I hired Bernie McMullen and like the guy. He is doing a fine job. Picking on Fleisch, a fellow parishioner, through the church directory is sad. Picking on a Haddix because he has a GED is not very Christ-like either. Who cares if he got a GED instead of a regular diploma? For the record, Barb knows absolutely nothing about my education or work experience. Barb's "hatch job for Jesus" is below (the factual content is about 2%): "Well the whole thing is very sad since Vanessa Fleisch is a CHRPer. But so are Bernie and Cathy and they were really upset when they found out what was going on. Vanessa won't even look Bernie in the eye and Bernie and Cathy thought they were friends. She was their realtor for crying out loud! They had been looking for a house on the lake 4 years ago when Cathy was diagnosed with lung cancer. So they decided to just stay where they are and add on instead. Cathy picked Vanessa because she was a CHRP sister. But anyway, Don Haddix can't stand Bernie and he is cahoots with Steve Brown, and somehow Vanessa has gotten involved with this. There is a third guy, Eric Imker running to fill out the term vacated by Haddix when he started his mayoral campaign. Erik just can't stand Bernie, for what reason, we don't know. But in a perfect storm, Haddix, Vanessa and Eric get elected and they then have a majority on the city council. Bernie is out and Steve Brown is in! As I stated, he is not qualified!! The whole thing scares me to death. If this comes to pass, I will move. Paige is graduating and we don't have to stay in PTC. A lot of the problems we have in this town now are because of what Steve Brown did as mayor. God help us if he becomes the city manager. And God help us if Don Haddix becomes the major. He didn't even get a traditional high school diploma. He has a GED and no college and Steve Brown studied journalism (I'm not sure if he got his degree, I do know he has never worked in journalism He's mostly been office managers for dentists). Cyndi at least has a law degree. And Vanessa accuses her opponent, Les Dyer of being a developer because his wife is a realtor. How does that work when Vanessa, herself, is a realtor? That sounds like a tactic right out of the "Steve Brown Political Handbook". She also told one of my friends that she thought it was unethical for Bernie and the Mayor to buy fixer uppers together to rent out, like there was some political influence going on there. She even said there was talk that they had used city funds for this purpose. You know Bernie - he wouldn't do anything like that! And they mayor is running for state office. If he had that kind of bombshell in his closet, would he run for state office, for crying out loud! Again, this has Steve Brown written all over it. The bottom line is Vanessa has gotten herself mixed up with a bad bunch. We have to make sure that Steve doesn't get back in city hall. And the only way to make absolutely sure it doesn't happen is not to vote for Don Haddix or Vanessa. And as I said, I don't usually get this outspoken about this stuff, but this is too important to bury my head in the sand and let the chips fall where they may." - Barb Curasi Steve Brown's blog | login to post comments |
