H1N1 is just another reminderBut the internet can be quite annoying. The flu shot H1N1 is the latest form of annoyance. Back when Paris Hilton was at her peak in popularity, gossip bloggers liked to write about her because she got a bunch of hits to their website, especially if you snuck in the word "nude" next to her name. I consider H1N1 to be the ultimate link bait for health care bloggers and political websites. This applies to television networks and anyone looking to capatalize off the 'story' any way they can. The 1976 swine flu vaccine did more harm than good. The current vaccine could yield very different results but motivation by drug pushers and the government and media should always be questioned. Our industrial complexes make it so some problems are unavoidable. The plastic industry, for example, has overtaken most of our food products, toys and check out lines at grocery stores. Plastic, as you know, is a 'forever' pollutant. For 80+ years people insulated homes and buildings with asbestos. The companies buying these products knew that asbestos exposure can lead to a deadly cancer called mesothelioma. What took so long find greener insulation alternatives? Money. Money is the root of America's problems. Systems are built to produce and once those systems are in place and companies gain power through money, they will do what it takes to make sure those trends are not reversed even if archaic and problematic to the future of humanity. Back to the swine flu. This is an issue that resulted from pig farms in Mexico. The 'meat industry' is the source of many of our polution problems but you can't expect anything to change anytime soon. People are making money and ensuring that unhealthy habits of humanity continue. Going vegetarian, while a selfless and difficult task, will always be mocked by conovarian capitalists. So, it is my belief that more and more of these issues will continue as a result of an overall neglect by humans to adjust to the times. A trend will continue that inhabits a bunch of paranoid folk reading the latest news, and worrying, and feeling guilty...about the world they are destroying around them. These are problems that are seemingly out of their control and the habits are paid for by people that can actually make changes by giving up their money pipeline.
