Greetings fellow bloggers: Protect your private information on this website.

As many of you know, a blogger attempted to "Muddle" me a year and a half ago by providing my superiors with content I authored on this blog. Not happy with the results of their efforts, they have apparently upped the ante.

My personal email was compromised. Personal emails were copied and mailed to third parties. My company information was hacked and used to track a number of things, and Privacy Act information was compromised.

As I, my company, and authorities deal with this situation, I encourage any and all of you to do a personal cost-benefit analysis and decide if engaging in hardball politics with those who have proven to be limitless in their vindictiveness is worth the risk to yourselves and your families.

And, YES! When I find out who this individual(s) is/are, you will know.

Cheers!

It came too late for me. All I can say is be wary of people who claim to be your friend. Fortunately new e-mail addresses are easy to come by.

Be careful I hope this situation will be resolved for you. Take care.

again, or there is a second one as bad as the first. What is wrong with people that they have to be vindictive and go after people's jobs, families or whatever? Everyone should be able to express their opinion and know that people will still respect them and their privacy. Sorry this is happening--seems to always happen to the good guys. I hope you take this as far as possible when you find out who the dirty rotten skunk is.

...it was good talking to you today and thanks for the public warning to everyone on here. There are honorable and ethical ways to battle on the political front, as shown by many on here both Dem and Repub alike, and these ethical political bloggers do not go after another blogger's job or family. However, there are some lunatics in our community, that seem to be from the far-right fringe, who continue to try and hurt others because of another blogger's political views and opinions. One never knows what evil lurks in the minds of some but this blog has been a textbook study in sociopathic behavior.

Hey Git Real...when Hack finds out who this is and is ready to reveal the name, would you all be opposed to allowing him to tell his story on the FayetteNet.com website? I think we all deserve to know who this is and I doubt that Cal would let Hack tell his story on here, but you never know.

Git, I know exactly what you meant... no one feels the need to match egos with the garbage guy (who is well paid and probably has a decent benefits package) so you are less likely to catch the vapors that a successful business dude like you would catch. I've always been impressed with how quickly you acted to protect your family. That is the true measure of a man. I haven't always measured up well, unfortunately. If you give no ammo, they can't shoot at you. Lessons learned.

for the advise and warning. You know that the carbonunit is rooting for the person who has treated me the best around here.

I had an employer in FL capture my private email password and go on a fishing expedition through my personal email account. This caused me considerable problems until I convinced him of the error of his ways; the details can be made available at a coffee meeting sometime. Now, the only stuff that I type onto a computer is stuff I don't care if the whole world reads. Whenever I have something to say that I don't want everyone to know, I make a phone call and talk, or send the message telepathically (can you hear me now?).

I too have been threatened by some scoundrels that lurk about. I already know of a couple of elected officials that are gunning for my tail and worse yet they aren't from your side of the aisle. It has been quiet on my end since this first of the year. Yet somehow I have no doubt the situation will escalate once we start pulling back the curtains on some of these characters once we start aligning ourselves after qualifying.

I can empathize with your employment situations and why you have been forced to seek cover. Fortunately my nemisis will find it far more difficult to take me down via my employer. Eye-wink And how sweet it is that my business doesn't depend on kissing up to any of these characters which is why so many remain silent and condoning in our little Peyton's Place. But we will test these a$$wipes soon enough and see how bold they are in mentioning my children's names to me again in private e-mail threats as time moves on. My name has already been exposed on here once with this group of taunters that Cal & Co took care of in the past.

Actually I welcome the challenge as I really don't give a rat's rump if these clowns come after me again. Let's just say I have my own booby traps in place. Eye-wink Smiling

Take care of yourself. You know how to reach us privately if you need our help exposing these useless predators. Somehow I wonder if the same persons might be connected?

Cheers!

two years ago. I found out it was Janet Dunn, Greg Dunn's wife. I'd never met her in my life, still wouldn't know her if I saw her but I was very critical of her husband on this web site when he was a Commissioner and she came after me with a vengence. Even visited my wife, who also had never met her, at work in Atlanta. Some people will use these blogs to satisfy their own hatred. It seems to eat them alive.

McCalls has the ambiance and big buffet selection, but with BBQ the soul is in the sauce....and Wilbur's gots the sauce! Hands down Smiling . Mrs. Wilbur passed away recently, but the legacy lives. You must return with a few bottles of that vinegary red peppery goodness.

Cheers to you!

Kev, thanks for the info. Actually, I prefer BBQ without sauce. If it is cooked properly, hand chopped and seasoned with a little vinegar and red pepper, that works for me. As for sauce, I like George's, which is mixed up in Nashville, NC. They are on the Internet and ship. CAUTION! The "HOT" will tear you a new one in any volume! When they were still open, I always stopped by Bob Melton's in Rocky Mount. They got tired of being flooded out, being located right on the banks of the Tar River and moved to a location downtown--that was never the same and didn't last long. Since then, I have patronized Gardner's but that's sorta hit and miss, dependent on who they have cooking their meat. Incidentally, if you haven't tried Dean's in Jonesboro, I recommend it. He only uses hams and hand chops everything. So many other Q Cookers use butt/shoulder and incorporate all the fat and run it through a machine, resulting in something like mush. I used to like Fresh Air, just outside of Jackson, but not too long ago, visited and sitnessed them running the meat through a machine. Made for a truly mushy sandwich that isn't worth a return trip for me. Cheers.

Oh yeah, I do like pork sausage and my favorite comes frm Williams Grocery in Haralson. But while they do have smoked sausage, I prefer the fresh link version (bulk is also good). Yeah, Yagotta cook it, either in a pan or on the grill, but it's good no matter how you do it. Perhaps of interest, their sausage has some historical interest in that it was known as "rooster pepper sausage" during theCarter administration and routinely dispatch to the White House. I had something of a personal relationship with Mr. Williams (now deceased) becausehe was a NC Tar Heels Basketball fam. On one of my trips back there to visit, I bought him one of those official BB Caps and gave it to himThey also have other good meats that are locally prepared. And they usually gave some good western corn-fed beef steaks that they cut to order--like Rib-eye or\NY Strip.

Kevin, it's good to hear from you. I've been wondering what you were up to, and still wondering what "boonda" means. Smiling

I'm also sorry to hear of your problems. I hope this all gets resolved soon and the perpetrator is prosecuted.

Thank you for the advise. Too often I find myself being way too candid and open in these blogs.

If you are in town, I'd like to invite you to a wine social/reception at the gallery "Art Works on the Square" in downtown Fayetteville tonight (Oct. 2) from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.. It's an artist co-op featuring about 13 different artists with our own gallery space. I remember that you and Sky are art lovers. It's a drop-in event so you don't need to plan your whole evening around it.

This invite is open to the rest of my fellow bloggers as well. Yes, I do have a space there (space "D") but this is not a ploy to get you in to buy. I just thought that some may enjoy the wine, snacks, and looking at the artwork - most of the other artists there are so much better than myself, I really think you would enjoy their work.

Anyway, Kevin, please keep in touch with us and have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for going. I should have mentioned that my first name is Shannon (I go by my middle name here because Shannon was taken when I registered on the Citizen).

Until yesterday I had space "D". Payed my due on Thursday, October 1, and showed up yesterday to find that my stuff had been moved out. It was a simple misunderstanding between the owner and myself. I consolidated a few pieces to go on one of the front walls by the cafe. I don't know the new resident that has taken my space but his photography is wonderful. I wish him success there.

I was there last night...I hate that I missed you but I'm so glad you went and enjoyed yourself. Thank you.

Getting back to the issue of this thread. I visited with my family yesterday and my mother mentioned to me that, out of curiosity, she googled my name. Every thing I have ever posted on this site came up. Now, I don't have a problem with owning what I say or post - I wouldn't say or write anything that I didn't believe or would not defend - but, I found it a little scary that someone can find out just about anything about you.

I realized that I have given my fathers' name on here, in reference to his Vietnam service and had not considered what a breech that was for him. We all need to heed Kevin's advise and at the very least not refer to our loved ones by name. For that, I am sorry Dad.

No, at some point you have to use your head over your heart. When the cost outweighs the revenue - you have to cut it loose. I'm hoping that the owner will allow me to continue to show work up front - she would take 40% instead of 15% but I would gain in not paying the monthly fee. I'm sure she and I could come up with some sort of agreement that would benefit us both - minus the misunderstandings.

Skyspy: I look forward to seeing you again. We still need to get together and share portfolios and talk art.

Davids mom: I really look forward to meeting you. In my minds eye I have you pictured as Maya Angelou - I guess because your both wise and you have both given me encouragement through words. Words are a very powerful thing - they can either tear you down or set the bar high.

Mainstream: I don't know Janet Dunn. There is some beautiful pottery at "Art Works" but I'm afraid I haven't met that artist. Because it's an artist co-op, there is a wide range of the arts represented: tapestry, pottery, painting, photography, jewelry, comic strip, architectural, stained glass (beautiful stained glass), etc.
