8 year olds drivin Golf Carts

Last Thursday I was leaving the subdivision (Sandown Creek) just after the school bus from Huddleston Elem. dropped off the afternoon load of kids. There were 3 golf carts there with parents waiting for their respective children. On 2 out of the 3 golf carts Mom slides over and allows their Elementary aged kids to drive home right down the middle of the road, and there's never a cop around when you need one. There's just no way these kids were any where near 12 years old, more like 8-9. What are you people thinking, do you not realize that by doing this you are telling your daring little child that it's OK to break the law as long as Mommy says it's so. I know that it's real hard but try telling them NO, they'll piss and moan at first but in the end they'll respect you. Just remember that it's a $250.00 fine the first time they catch you and it goes up from there.

Two suggestions for seeing 8 year olds on carts..

Try and ask the parents if they know it's not legal for their tots to drive the cars...most folks are reasonable about things..failing that, just take the cart number, and report them to the Law, if it really bothers you that much.

This the worst advice I have seen!

You obviously don't care if kids drive and violate the law.

This is an obvious example of Libertarianism at work---let everyone do as they please and we will police each other!

Cart numbers to PTC law doesn't get anyone fined or called to court!

Stupid parents should have been sterilized. You are right. This parent behavior, that they think is cute is exactly why kids 12/13 take the carts when the parents are out. Yes I know many that do this and they tell me their parents dont care. And one day they will run over and kill another child and the parents will lose their home and everything else they have. It will be pay back time

Wow!! a cop was driving down the cart path today at noon..Wish they would hit the paths when school gets out and ticket the heck out of the juvies and their lovely parents.

Are you joking? They would have scores of parents on their tail immediately.

That would be like patrolling the Friday night bars at closing time----totally out of the question!

However hispanic broken tail lights is patrolled.

tail lights? The only ones I have ever found are those blah whitebread one--you know the kind I mean. Do the Hispanic ones have multi-colors? Are they bought broken? Do they have little flags on them telling you they are Hispanic? Just wondering.

I think they get them at the junk yard already broken----cheaper that way. They do have purple polka dots on a bright yellow and red background!
Also, the driver is brown and Mexican looking.
