Bypass lawsuit

I've heard that a group is suing over the bypass. Does anyone know the name of the group or where you can seen a donation?

Looking at the map, I'm not sure of any way this is going to help traffic. It looks like when all is said and done, the road loops around Fayetteville, goes to Sandy Creek, up Tillman and then winds up coming out around 92 and West Bridge! So Then what are yo going to do? You still have NO WAY TO 85! 92 has an OVERPASS to highway I85, I know, cause I take it all the time. My question is...HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GET ON I85? If you follow the road around Fayetteville and still wind up on 92..and no where to go...what have you done?

You can't get onto I85 so you are going to have to take backroads to 74, which in the mornings is already backed up to Parrots Funeral Home at 8am.

If you do this, you will make the driving time on 74 for everyone in Peachtree City twice as long.

It would seem that if you built the by pass around Fayeteville on the other side and tried for I75, you would be better off. I can't see this does anything.

When the bypass hits Westbridge, you can go a little further north on Hwy. 92 and hang a right onto Peters road or Lester road to get to 138, which leads to I-85.

Maybe the county will spring for some of those fancy "to I-85" signs to help the map-challenged.

Fayetteville is choking on traffic ALREADY. The county has little choice but to build the bypass. I'm sorry it is coming close to your house, and I realize it will eliminate three homes and a barn. In your shoes, I would be pissed too.

I will fight strongly for the bypass to be well-landscaped and hopefully there will be room to give you some more buffer. I know you planned to live rural and this is screwing up your plans.

Surely in the last 20 years you've noticed Fayette is no longer the rural wonder it used to be. Secret's out: it's a safe place to live with excellent schools.

Most all our residents work in Atlanta, and so do people living south of us in Coweta, Spalding and Pike. They've got to get there somehow and need more options.

Yo Crimedog...I agree this county has a lot of good and is attractive. The real problems with traffic are not Hester Road, or Rivers or Westbridge...C'mon...Maybe in 10 years. The biggest traffic hassle in this county--- not even close---- is Highway 74 headed to the Interstate. That is where almost all of what we can spend should go. And let's not kid ourselves there is a big cha-ching behind this By pass.

74 is a mess. I've tried going a little before and a little after 8 and it is always a mess. You can't beat it. It would be nice if they widen it, but they are talking about feeding more traffic onto it with the bypass! Go follow the route...it is nuts. All this bypass to get around Fayetteville. If you look at the route, you are wasting time if you take it. Then if you bear with it, you are on old National Hwy which is always busy, people cut off of old National and down Oakley road hoping to avoid traffic in the morning. That is a good part of the problem with 74 now.

As for Peters road, that is still a joke, it is small and curvy. This Bypass is running almost parallel to I85 for miles. A better idea would be to take Tyrone Palmetto road and widen it. It is a straight shot to I85

Back to the Bypass. If you take this detour, you could come out quicker just to go through Fayette ville and then it 314, they have widened it and if you want Old National, it hits it much quicker than the road to no where.

Nothing about it makes any sense if you are trying to fix the congestion.

"Secret's out: it's a safe place to live with excellent schools."

Yeah right! That's a joke!!! Gas station robbed...bank robbed...our children being robbed of a good education by you and your cronies! Oh, we cannot forget that our pockets are robbed by the ESPLOST that you wanted! Schools being closed, schools being built where & when they weren't needed...shall I continue?

Our schools are still producing results in terms of their student output. I admit, had I known then what I know now about the financial mismanagement (no reserve!!!) I likely would've voted differently.

As for the crime here in Fayette it may be 1000 times worse than 10-15 years ago... but we're still light years better than most everywhere in metro Atlanta. Kudos to our cops, dispatchers and everyone who lays down the law for that!!! With ClayCo next door it ain't that easy, as the gas station robbery proves....

This may come as a shock to you, but if you...!?LOOK?!... at a map.. The counties you want to help..Spaulding and Pike have I75 running through them Moron!

Also, I don't pay my taxes to help Spaulding, nor Pike, and I'm sure they feel the same!

You haven't used the name, Crime Dog in a while, but noticed you couldn't resist...'with excellent schools.'' once a bimbo...always a bimbo!..and that is a nice name for it!

Interesting observation about taxes there Suggar.

I was under the impression that "our" taxes could be used to alleviate traffic congestion. Silly me!

Those cars and trucks may have Pike/Spalding/Coweta tags but getting them around Fayetteville is crucial and will help local folks.

Good luck keeping the wraps on your lil ol' rural Fayette County. Hint: It's TOO LATE!!!!!!!!! Don't let the screen door pop ya on the way out!

You are so jealous of honesty! Too bad so many went down the line voting Rep...if voted on record...or morales...you would be toast!

Stop all that crazy talk Suggarfoot! You are making to much sence!
You know that kind of talk is not welcomed around here!!
I see where you are coming from suggarfoot.
I don't think they want to hear that though. If they do listen to you and take it into concideration I would be surpriced.
After all, they didn't think of it first.
I know what you mean on the traffic in the mornings with 74 etc. It is already a pain.
Since were throwing in our so called 2 cents worth, lets get some buses running around fayetteville during the day. Get folks all on one vehicle will cut down some of that traffic clutter.
