The racial shift is breaking news only to those who don't pay attention or lazy newspaper editors who get statistics off the wire and write stories about it. If you pay attention all the Citizen newspapers in the suburbs have had a similar story in the past week.

The Citizen is in business to sell papers, and anything that even implies race in headlines makes it hard to keep the paper boxes full.

The only way we pay for The Citizen newspaper is by what we spend at the ad buyers place of business who advertise in the paper. The paper is free. The ad buyers should expect people to read the paper however, in order to see their ads. The money spent buying ads is built into the ad buyer's overhead each year, which dictates what he sells his goods for at retail.
Of course, if printing something that reduces ad revenue goes to far, then it will be throttled. Like, how many criticisms of the Bush administration do you see printed from local sources?
