American hero funeral procession in Fayette

Fyt35's picture

An American hero, Sergeant First Class John C. Beale, was killed in action last week in Afghanistan.
The body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale will arrive at Falcon Field this afternoon, June 11, 2009, at 6 p.m. to be escorted to Cannon-Cleveland Funeral Home by the Henry County Police Department. As the family would like some time to themselves at the airport, Police do not expect to begin the procession until 6:15 at the earliest.
The following is the route (From Falcon Field in Fayette County):
• Dividend Drive to Highway 74
• Highway 74 to Highway 85
• Highway 85 to Highway 54
• Highway 54 to McDonough Rd.
• McDonough Road to Jonesboro Rd.
• Jonesboro Road to McDonough Square
• McDonough Square to Highway 42
• Highway 42 to Brannon Road to Cannon Cleveland
Please spread the word to your friends and family, as we would like all those who are able to line the streets along the route to help honor this fallen hero and give him the welcome home he deserves.

I'm proud to call you home, wonderful display and attendance at the square in Fayetteville, lots of people, LOTS of FLAGS, and I think we did FSGT Beale proud, as he did us. To the Fayetteville Fire Dept. great flag and great display.

I saw that flag too. Beautiful! A great tribute from Fayette County citizens to Sgt. Beale & his family. But still... it breaks my heart. Will this ever end?

I was at the St. Johns Crossings BP station, what a great and respectful showing by all of Fayette County. Very emotional indeed, I am very proud of my fellow Fayette countians.

Regardless of all the sentiments shared, let's hope for a large turnout. Glad to hear this info is spreading quickly.

I will be there. It's funny - I am new to this "blogging" thing, but I see that many people are active "bloggers". What a shame more of them haven't responded to this blog instead of moaning and groaning about typical small town politics. If there were ever a time to pay attention to things that REALLY matter, it is for this fallen hero who died protecting us and our way of life. Seems like the very least we could do. God bless him.

I think the reason there are so few comments on this particular blog, is because there's no debate on it. It's a horribly sad situation for this man and his family. It's a request to all of us to show our support, and everyone is in agreement to honor this soldier's service and his family's loss. This story and request has been spreading very quickly. Hopefully we'll all see a very large turnout. My condolences to his family.

How dare you for turning this very somber article and request into a political platform for yourself!

This is specifically about this fallen soldier and his family. And a request to show our respect.

Not about you or your political views. You should be ashamed of yourself!

Lindsey has that last statement in quotations as his signature. Look it up, very similar to Kevin King's "Cheers". If he posts something, regardless how trivial, it shows up with that stuff as a signature.

And I am sorry for the loss of this soldier. But lets lament all of our losses. We have an all volunteer army. Each soldier has knowingly placed themselves in harms way. Each take an oath to "will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same." give Lindsey a break, he is a police officer and a patriot.

And go ahead an attack me for defending him. I have served with the 2nd ID, the 25th ID, and the Ranger Regiment. I have shown my respect by my service. More should do the same

Lindsey may be one heck of a guy. And, as a police officer, he must be a special person - as are you for serving in the military. And I do realize every soldier is there on a volunteer basis.

But I was not 'attacking' his patriotism, or yours. But his 'signature line', whether he uses it on all things or not, was in absolute poor taste in this particular case. I use signature lines on the occasion as well, and remove them when they are inappropriate.

As this story is being followed very closely with it being a local soldier returning home, an 'anti-Obama' signature line is in poor taste. He, and you, should be compassionate enough to realize that.

A police officer? Now that's scary - more information than is needed.

Thanks for your service guys. The odds were pretty good that we stood next to each other during this powerfully moving event honoring Sgt. John Beale and his family. One thing I do know..... regardless of where we stood along the route I realized how 'not alone' I really was today as I stood side by side with many wonderful Americans today. Perhaps there is some hope after all for this country and that we can actually survive these ridiculous times and politians that are overwhelming us at the moment. After what I witnessed today I actually sensed some 'real hope'. Smiling

This "news article" is actually on someone's private blog. This is an ad hoc, hey tell everybody about it kind of thing. Blogs are no place for decorum. Get the point across and move on. I respect the family and I hope that lots of people show up, but I will not view it like our country has turned a corner or something.

Compassion? it is a blog. does the family read it, who knows? The gathering was communicated and that is all that needed to happen.

I have never taken Lindsey as savvy enough on a computer to make instant changes to his signature line.

And as I view these moments in the prism of history, I see our Congress standing on the steps of the capital joining hands after 9/11 and singing. Yet that moment didn't change hearts and didn't change minds. It will be nice for the family and that's about it. But that is good enough for now.

I will definitely be out there on the side of Hwy 74 this afternoon to honor this young man and for every young man or woman serving our country, I say THANK YOU. You are all heros.

BTW Jersey Girl, that's his tag line. It is on every post at the bottom. It was not part of his reply, just to clarify.

To the family of SFC Beale, my sincere condolences. To all the citizens of Fayetteville, my heartfelt thank you for all of your continued support. To my parents who were standing there along side the road to pay their respects and support a great fallen Soldier, God Bless You.

I'm a Fayette citizen serving as an MP at Ft. Drum and it broke my heart when my mom told me about the loss of SFC Beale. Though I am proud of my parents for being there for his procession, I only wish I could have been there as well.

It cuts like a knife whenever I hear another one of our citizens has fallen victim to the attacks overseas. However, from reading his history of re-enlisting in the Army during a time of war, it sounds like he died doing what he loved, defending this great nation. Therefore, he is vouchsafed a hero in my book. I can only hope to serve with the same courage and fortitude he displayed. It would have been an honor to have known him. God Bless you SFC Beale and may the citizens forever remember you as a hero.

Who is this aimed at? I don't see anyone being disrespectful.

Just the signature line on Lindsey's blog. I've now been told, a few times, how it should be overlooked because his 'anti-Obama' signature line is on everything. Sorry. In this case it was inappropriate.

And, just for the record, if someone had an 'anti-Bush' signature line, I would have been responding the same way.

That tag line has been on ALL OF MY POST it is done automatically..
You should not be so sensitive and allow shallow small things to get your goat...(That's a Southern Colloquialism).. If you took the time to notice.. I said I will be there.. Meaning to pay my respect.. so are we supposed to remove all avatars and tag lines that might offend you to respond..?

I removed it for this post..OK.. geez.. See Wedge I am Savvy enough..
