I can definitely think of some more cost effective and environmentally friendly ways to use the cash! I agree that the boost to mechanics with state-guaranteed work, and the added extras are good. At least the cars don’t end up making them poorer. I don’t think that the real reason that they are out of work is because they can't get there, though. The country has bigger problems than just putting a few more cars on the road. If they're just sitting there, then sure, why not? There's no need to bill it as the solution to poverty, though. If they had a job to go to, they would get there any way they knew how. It is simply because there is nothing to go to.

It's an encouragement for these people, I don't see why this is wrong. Having a car when you know you can't afford to buy one yourself is a big deal.

I think helping these people is a great idea. But the free car including the insurance, AAA, discounted parts (like toyota discount parts), inspection, etc. is definitely wrong.
