Is it true that Cynthia Tucker is leaving the AJC to go work for the Obama Administration in DC?

According to the AJC, Cynthia Tucker resigned as AJC editorial page editor and is moving to Washington DC, where she will write a political column twice a week.

Seems like a step down to me career-wise but perhaps since rabid conservitard Jim Wooten is being put out to pasture she feels her work on the editorial pages is done.

I noticed Bob Barr is getting one editorial a week now, too.

I seem to remember reading an "open letter" a month or so ago from the AJC's Editor-in-Chief. In that letter, the EiC was sharing the results of a survey of AJC readers that was being used to determine the changes (aka downsizing) that would be taking place at the AJC.

Reading between the lines, I sensed Cynthia Tucker's days at the AJC might be numbered. "Reassignment" or "resignation" are probably the tactful ways of dismissing a Pulitzer Prize winner.

Considering the content of most of her columns I've read in the AJC, I think she's been on Obama's payroll for a long time.
