Citizen Home Delivery?????????

Mr. Beverly....

A long, long, time ago in another age....

We used to get the Fayette Citizen delivered right to our door ...well actually it was dropped off at the end of our driveway ...usually tossed in the drainage ditch.

But we at least got the paper. We *love* the Citizen; it's the only newspaper we get ...or should I say got.

The paper mysteriously stopped showing up in our driveway sometime back before the County Commisioners election. A phone call to the office created more questions than were answered; how could you have a newspaper and not deliver it? Why were we not getting the paper anymore ...after receiving it for more than a decade? Did I miss my subscription renewal notice? A voice mail message was left for you, Mr. Beverly. Nobody could give me an answer ...except to use the internet. Phooey ...We want our newsprint copy of the Citizen.

Then the paper began to show up, sporadically, but certainly not reliably like it used to. Last time I checked I don't think Ebeneezer Church Road was considered the styx. We got a copy last week but didn't get one this week ...and so it goes.

So what gives with the Citizen and its delivery? I would gladly *pay* to have it mailed to my home ...at least I know I'd get it.

Frustrated.

I have NEVER had the citizen deliveried to my home, too bad they don't simply do as the AJC does and have a few spots where we can get copies for ourselves.

I would pay for a copy of the citizen if it was priced right. I like to read the ongoings around our county, then jump on line and post my opinion on a wide variety of subjects

I don't know the reason for the 'stop' in home deliveries - but today’s edition is outstanding! Well worth the wait. Please don't stop. The picture on the front page is a work of art.

But I don't see the gripe, you haven't paid for it....drive to their office and pick one up if it's that important. Then you would know how they feel about delivering it. Smiling

People PAY for ads to be delivered to all!
If their ads aren't made available to read they should get their money back.

This is some more of today's principles I suppose!

If the person who used to deliver your Citizen newspaper saw a political sign in your yard for a non-Citizen-endorsed candidate for County Commission - like Wells or Dunn for example - you would have been cut off.

Cal takes his position as kingmaker and his endorsements very seriously. Don't rock his boat. He has all the power.

By the way, in 2 years there will be no newspapers - it will all be on the internet, so it is probably a good idea to get prepared for that. You can tell from this website that Cal is certainly planning to publish this way. The other papers - not so much and they will go away.

Robert W. Morgan ....name of a famous left coast DJ from the age of AM Top 40....judging by your little picture you must still be in the biz....sorta following in the steps of the Great Imus?....

Well, no I never had any politico signs in my yard. I did vote for both Wells and Dunn though....I may be in the minority but I think they did good by Fayette county and the people ...I for one think the current group a bunch of fools and thieves.... but that still isn't going to get my paper delivered. I think it's more a mundane situation rather than a political conspiracy against me; they don't have enough drivers. I suppose you're right though about the internet ...what with the Chicago Trib, LA & NY Times and other icons of the fifth estate falling into bankruptcy ...and the Out of Town Newsstand there in Harvard Yard folding after 40 some years....

He knows if you been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.

Voting for either Dunn or Wells will get your paper pulled.

Ditto. It stopped showing up here, too.

Now we only get that other county paper. What's it called?
