IHOP Coming to PTC

There is a sign in the window of the former Original Pancake House in PTC that reads "IHOP Coming Soon." Good! Their prices should be much more reasonable than the OPH, plus open more hours.

IHOP is about three dollars cheaper overall than say the Village was for lunch----6-8 for dinner and of course village served no breakfast.

Different food, of course. (no French, and only one kind of catsup!)

Eggs and stuff OK for the price. (eggs good---stuff, fair)
Lunch better than most others here unless you like burgers, or sandwiches.
Dinner, cheapest around except bargain places who serve 'dinner.'

They are two steps above Huddle and Waffle! And somewhat quieter.

There is now a market here for them! They are open ALL of the time nearly!

What we need is a lunch and dinner menu by some restaurant that has quality for about $8 for lunch 10-12 for dinner, no smoking and no bar!

If they are too good to serve breakfast---so be it.

The best IHOP used to be on Peachtree Street (40 years ago), south of Piedmont Hospital. Is it still there? Twenty years ago, it looked a little run-down.

Pretty sure it has been closed for several years now. Could be longer, time flies. Wife and I used to stop by every time we made the trip to Piedmont. Can't recall for sure, but think it was demolished for some kind of redevelopment. Condos or apartments maybe.

Since Village Cafe closed, there is nowhere to eat in Fayetteville. Just how many pizzas can a person digest? The food is not good at these chains, and the waiters have an attitude. IMHO

I don't know if I have ever seen an IHOP that wasn't in a free-standing(and ugly) building, or attached to the dwindling number of hotels that have food service.

It would have to do better than it's way overpriced predecessor with limited hours of operation. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did.

My first job was dishwasher at the IHOP in Union city when it was built back in my teen years Smiling Things have certainly changed in that area over time, but I never thought the whole Shannon Mall and outlying shopping experience around there was much of anything to begin with.

The service is better then the one in Fayetteville, of course it would have to be, wouldn't it?
