God help us, and our country, if parents start abandoning their children because of their financial situation and inability to take care of their families any longer. It is gut wrenching.

What have we become?

thanks for the post, this is a sobering reminder that there is much going on out there beyond the headlines. How sad and stressful this must have been for the dad; I can't imagine! I disagree with the Omaha legislature wanting to change the law and apply the safe haven only to newborns, this case alone shows the need to protect them at all ages.

that was unselfish love. He knew he had done his best and still failed to give them a home.

I wonder if some on the BOE pushing SPLOST have ever considered some people in this county might be on their last financial leg? One more increase on anything might be the straw that broke the camel's back.

I will never vote for SPLOST and be a party to overburdening people in a time like this.

This has been going on for years around here (metro Atl area). Spend some time volunteering at the Rainbow House (Clayton County). The airport used to be the big "drop-off" spot. I don't know if it still is.
